That Fantasia song was horrendous. But Simon's face during the performance made it all worth watching.
I made it about 10 seconds in & then fast forwarded through it.

Sucks that Syesha went home. We all knew she would be, I was just still hoping a little. Archuletta has no entertainment ability. His voice is amazing, but he's so damn boring to watch.

Yep, I think it was clear it was going to be David vs David, Archuleta gets the teenybopper vote.

I guess the bright side is finishing 3rd won't impact Syesha's career at all she'll get a chance and I hope she takes advantage of it.

I think Cook is the best one on there but I won't be surprised at all to see Archuleta win.

It doesn't matter who wins now. All they have to worry about is putting on one more good show and focus on writing good music for their respective albums. They can both enjoy their work week.

Also, if Cook makes a Switchfoot/Nickelback/whatever-type album, I may have to burn the show down. I'm hoping for more of a STP-type effort from him.

David vs David.

I couldn't be happier. Should be an excellent final show. My vote goes to Cook but I doubt he will be able to beat out Archuleta's teenie bopper support.

The only shocking thing was Fantasia. WTF was that. I looked like Simon.

That was ridiculous. Unreal.

Cook's hometown visit to his music teacher was way cool. Liked that.

My wife kept asking me to FF the performance.

I couldn't. It was like bad car accident, I had to see it.

35 years from now on VH1 this will be that Fantasia was on crack moment.

Ha! I was the opposite. I started fast forwarding and told my wife that I have no problem watching a train wreck, crimes against humanity however have no place on television.

My comment to my girlfriend was if she ever has a Behind the Music show this will be the clip they show as the beginning of slide into problems.

"In 2008 she appeared on American Idol and shocked the country with a performance that had everyone wondering is Paula's condition contagious?"

That was so horrible! I was never a big fan of hers but man that was beyond bad. The look on Simon's face was priceless.

David A won the night.

So, David C is the biggest winner....by not winning.

David A's voice is just phenomenal...but he looks TERRIFIED. All the time. He has no "star" power. The kid will absolutely crack under all the pressure of stardom. I have no doubt about that.

Pure talent-wise, he's amazing. Clive Davis picked the PERFECT song for him. Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me was flawless (imho). I was not impressed with his Imagine, however.

I really liked both of the 2nd choices.

I voted the hell out of Cook :D

Don't we get to hear the two Diane Warren knock-off songs tomorrow? I'm sort of dreading it. Cook needs to whip out something Stone Temple-esque for his first single to reclaim his man card. If he busts out with anything that sounds like Creed or Nickelback or Aerosmith (movie soundtrack version) ... it's going to be hard for him to regain his credibility. He might have to shave his stubble in shame.

Have to admit much as I prefer Cook, Archuleta was better last night.

For me you pick over the whole season not last night but I'm sure Archuleta is going to win. Didn't like Cook's U2 cover just didn't work for me.

I did like his counter when Simon suggested songs he should have finished with and he said I figured this show is about progressing why sing something I've already sung? Both a good question for SImon and a knock to Archuleta who was coming up next repeating the Beatles song he did a few weeks ago.

So I figure Archuleta wins but Cook sells more albums.

Dial Idol has Cook smashing Archuletta. Cook wins tonight.

My wife was all over wanting to vote for Archuleta last night. Then Cook started to cry after the Collective Soul song and she said she was voting for Cook.

Then Archuleta came out and did Imagine and during that high falsetto you-whoo part she's like I'll vote for Cook but vote for Archuleta one more time.

LOL.

If Cook wins I'll be stunned.

STUNNED. (Not that I don't think he deserves it, because he's the best, IMO...but that David A was on point last night and teenies love him to death)

And it couldn't be WORSE for his career.

Also, I loved when they were showing that winning the contest was the creation of a Superstar...then one of the people shown was Chris Daughtry...who didn't win. :D

Say goodbye to that stellar idea if he wins this thing. They will soda pop and Nilla Wafer up his first album.

Totally agree by not winning Cook will get a huge boost to his career if it's true that he then isn't locked into Idol doing his first albums.

My thing with Archuleta is exactly what sort of CD is he going to put out?
ballads seem to be his thing, I can't see him doing popular music he's just not current. I get the impression in 6 months when I'm getting my teeth cleaned his new song will be playing after neil Diamond.

Keep in mind Clay Aiken is the 3rd most successful Idol behind Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. He's made FOUR studio albums, which is 3 more than I ever thought he'd make. His first album went double freakin' platinum after debuting on the Billboard 200, the first time that'd happened for a new artist in over a decade ... it sold over half a million copies in the first week.

Archuleta, with all his doughy gosh-gollyness, is a better singer than Aiken. I think his career with track about the same.

Does Aiken do gospel? I don't really know what genre he's in I agree Archuleta is better. I was aware that Clay was more successful than Ruben but I thought that was largely because of health issues I didn't really know Aiken was selling that many albums.

There are a hell of a lot of tween girls out there so you're probably right Archuleta can sell to them.
