HAHAHA I'm trolling? I disagree with a lot of people on here, but you have consistently called what people write "stupid" and you tell them to "be quiet". Great decorum. And hate to tell you, a Suns fan will get more leeway on this board than you ever will.

This is a Suns forum discussion open to anyone who wants to discuss the Phoenix Suns. Every poster = equal. Can't you handle a discussion without whining that a fan of another team wants to talk about the Suns? Just follow the rules and guidelines of the forum and anyone can post here - suns fan or not.

You saying suns fans get more leeway just because is kind of telling of the wrong type of attitude you are approaching this with.

Calling hall of fame coaches 'this guy is a joke' and lying backstabbers is not 'great decorum' either, charlie my boy. i don't see you whining about that.

can't you have a discussion without immediately whining about bans because you don't like any discussion that you don't agree with? people have different opinions, ya know.

Why do you keep calling me Charlie? That's not my screenname and is tantamount to a personal attack.

I don't like it when know-it-all fans insult veteran posters here and immediately turn around and use the persecution complex to support your being here. This isn't a democracy.

where's he jumping to? miss a max of 0, 1, or 2 games to scout NBA prospects.

you are throwing wild things out there. stop trolling

Haha, trolling...with an anti-Heat post...on a Suns board? That's rich.

Anyway, wasn't it Riley just the other game complaining about players not trying hard, mailing it in, and whatever?

For him to say that scouting players for next year can be more important then games this year is mailing it in as well.

HAHAHA!! Wow you seriously can't be taken seriously. Are you pulling my leg? lol

Chaplin is your screen name and you got a picture of the famous man in your avatar.

Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, Jr., KBE (16 April 188925 December 1977), better known as Charlie Chaplin, was an Academy Award-winning English comedy actor. Chaplin became one of the most famous actors as well as a notable director, composer and musician in the early to mid Hollywood cinema era. He is considered to have been one of the finest mimes and clowns ever caught on film and has greatly influenced performers in this field.

Seriously, you got to be pulling my leg :p You are trying to be funny like Charlie right? tantamount to a personal attack? lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I said the questions were stupid, but I have edited them out and will not say that type of thing again. even though it was really pushing it to the point of absurdity. that a better word for ya?

nope, not the same. sorry. you are really reaching for the sky.

what does it matter what the content is? we have to respect everyone who posts here, no? i respect you by never trolling, especially about the suns. so how about you show you got some class too and don't reach for the sky and troll saying that riley is jumping ship from the HEAT when he's only going to miss zero, one, or two games to scout #1 or #2 pick for the HEAT. i'm not your enemy here, buddy. i'm a human being who just happens to be a fan on another team but also likes to discuss the suns, who the whole world is interested in right now.

we can all love each other and respect each other, why do you insist on hating anyone not a suns fan? if you said something FACTUAL, but you are out there just bashing riley for no reason. it's not even criticism to call him a joke and a backstabber. that's just trash talking without any facts.

How is it not the same?

because riley is stressing over who to pick. it's very important we don't pick darko milicic, michael olokwandi (sp?), kwame brown, type of guys who were picked very high and dissapointed.

he clearly said he will try not to miss ANY games. if he does, it will only be 1 or 2 games. that's it. Pat Riley has been in MIAMI for the past 13 years. he's the LAST person you can ever say is jumping ship. he's the face of the franchise.

going in person and only missing 0-2 games max but he has a chance to see the players in person is very good. it's one thing to see on film, and completely another thing to watch in person.

What, you don't think those guys were scouted heavily?

The reason this came out in the public is because it gives him an excuse to leave the team. He usually doesn't stick around when things go bad.

going in person and only missing 0-2 games max but he has a chance to see the players in person is very good. it's one thing to see on film, and completely another thing to watch in person.
Because he won't get any other chances to see these players in person. You don't think they're going to bring their guys in for individual work outs, and things like that? Believe me, he doesn't have to leave the team to go scouting. It is his decision to, and he is only doing it because the team sucks.

Fact is, you're a Pat Riley homer and you blame Shaq for all the Heat's problems. That's your opinion and you have a right to have it, but to think Riley has/had nothing to do with the problems the Heat face right now is ludicrous.

Pat Riley's record speaks for itself, greenmachine. I don't need to defend him.

You attacking him calling him a joke is absurd and uncalled for.

His 11-47 record this year is mighty impressive.

Listen, I'm not saying he's not a great coach. I'm calling him out for his willingness to bail whenever the going gets tough.

As for it being uncalled for, I doubt he's offended by this thread.

but he's not bailing. if he was quitting or taking a vacation, but you are stretching it just because he wants to scout for himself and miss 0-1-or 2 games.

How about this question for ya:

If the Heat were sitting in the 4th seed for the playoffs and had Memphis' first round pick this year, do you think he'd be willing to miss games to scout out college players?

I wonder if there will ever be a discussion on this forum between fans of different teams where someone doesn't start playing "forum cop" and telling others how their post is "trollish." I have never seen more troll accusations in my life then in this forum, seriously.

Just because someone displays a different point of view doesn't mean they're being a troll. The point of forums is discussion and exchange of ideas. If you want to talk somewhere that people just blindly agree with you, try just talking to yourself. :D

Good question, but the problem is, it starts a battle of hypotheticals. There is no way to know the answer, but Riley fans would say he would do it the same, those that don't like Riley will say the opposite.

yeah he would. but im not pat riley and you are bringing up a hypothetical situation neither of us can answer to prove your point? dont agree with you

during the defense of the championship 2006-2007, riley took like 3 weeks off to have hip surgery. phil jackson did the same during the laker years with shaq.

Riley had his surgery when the Heat were 13-18, not during the off season when he wouldn't have missed games.

When the going gets tough, Riley gets going.

nope sorry. HEAT were defending NBA champs. going not tough.

Riley will have surgery Friday to remove floating chips in his right knee. Surgery on his hip, the malady that hurts him most now, is not yet scheduled. The 61-year-old coach doesn't know how long he'll be out.
"I'm going to be displaced for a while, but not disconnected at all," he said.
Miami's record fell to 13-18 on Wednesday after a 110-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Already this season, the Heat have seen Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade and Jason Williams -- perhaps the three biggest keys in last year's championship run -- miss many games with injuries.
And now it's Riley's turn.

heat were 13-18 due to a lot of injuries to the team. so when shaq, wade, and jwill were rehabbing, riley took the time to do his surgery so he wouldnt be in pain anymore and be ready for playoffs. it was smart to do it when the opportunity came.

I'm fully aware, but they were struggling mightily at the time. Nobody thought they had a chance in hell of repeating.

Plus, this isn't even a coherent response to my post above.

read the edit

the article said:
In September, Riley said he didn't expect to need the operation this season, but the pain has apparently worsened in recent weeks. He considered surgery during the summer, then simply decided against it.

Funny how it wasn't supposed to be an issue, but once the losses started mounting the pain got worse.

Wouldn't it stand to reason with his team all injured they would need their hall of fame coach on the sidelines more?

And really it doesn't matter why the team was struggling, fact is they were. And Riley chose to take his time off then. Why not over the summer when it wouldn't have affected much of anything? That was when the opportunity came.

Understandable, that wasn't directed at you. For what it's worth, I don't think you're trolling, you're stating your side of the argument, there is a big difference. It's mostly non Suns fans that get accused of this even if they're not being "trollish."

I agree; I don't think he's a troll either.

I just think he's terribly misguided.

with shaq, jwill and wade injured/out, what did it matter who was coaching? teams arent winning jack without their 2 best players. it was perfect time to get himself healed up too.

things change. i didn't expect to get a stomach ache when I went to Disney world after eating that cajun meal. but i did and so I had to deal with it... i don't see how you can say things can never change. riley didn't plan on seeing shaq/wade and rest of team go down to injuries. however it happened so he took advantage of it and got himself healed up. he had a valid reason.

riley's track record is very long and is a proven winner. you are just wrong and taking any opportunity to whack him. it's not easy to be team president gm and coach all at once.
