Wallyburger, you seem to be missing the point. It's not that the NBA players are so much more important than the athletes in the village. It's that they are bigger targets to terrorists. They epitomized what extremists dislike about the US. It's not that the athletes are more important. They were just more likely targets. If their employers were willing to pay the money to keep them a little bit safer I just don't see the problem.
