Neither of those guys were top 20 all time.

Nowhere close.

Career yardage doesnt make a player better than others. Terrell Davis had less yards than Thomas Jones, and Davis was 100x the back Thomas Jones was.

yardage matters! To Emmitt, CJ and Edge but not to Jones? Hearst has a bad ass career with the stupid niners - after we drafted him and let him go! Hence where I seen it applied to this thread when we lost another card drafted high performance rb in DJ- that went to crap! Not a perfect offseason!

well I did- but will be blunt - Thomas Jones was top 20 in yardage all time at one point - after leaving our nest! yardage doesn’t matter to you - well to me that’s stupid! As evidenced by : I cited just the rbs that came through cards in Arizona that it really really matters too! Cjs 2000 yard season - Emmits career yardage record -

Terrell davis was a great back, but he weren’t no Leroy Kelly !

No I'm talking about ranking. Terrell Davis was a MUCH better player but he isnt in the top 20 in yardage.

Is Jones better Gale Sayers? Hell no.

He outproduced gale sayers for a career- bo Jackson too! I mean I get your point, but I got a point too! Pretty mainstream point too without an asterisk!

my real point is after DJ was signed to lucrative contract, he fell apart like our entire history since coming to Arizona, we’ve had bad luck with elite running backs - the best luck we had is rarely if ever celebrated - edge ain’t mentioned in our super bowl run - without him we don’t go to the super bowl! Beanie lead us to a 3 score lead in the playoffs on one leg! CJ was the nfl top rusher when BA actually did great - I love fitz but without a featured rb we ain’t did squat! And nobody but me ever mentions that!

Loooooots of defense this offseason. Warranted.

signed a DT and two LBs as primary acquisitions

drafted two LBs and two Dlinemen

Also have Allen and Alford returning from injury

Vance has a lot of clay. Let’s hope he can properly mold it into something worthwhile.

The thing about this draft is every single player we have drafted should be expected to make the final 53, probably only 1 starter but a bunch of guys who will contribute as role players & special teamers. If last years picks continue to develop we should have a good foundation for the future. I am hopeful.

I have no opinion of the UDFA's (although the WR from Hawaii looks good in the highlights) but if we don't have a rookie camp or worse yet training camp it will be hard for those the team didn't sink a draft pick in to make a proper impression.

Personally, I have no confidence in Vance Joseph.
me neither, but there is the hope that he puts up a mediocre to good D so that hopefully some team that fires his coach, snaggs him and we can get a really good D-Coordinator XD.

I'm luke warm and how he does with a better team will determine how I feel after the season.

But. if he failed again. I'm pretty sure his head would be on the block anyway.

although, I guess it depends on time to formulate the defense before the season. if there is no training camp, we will be learning how to use the rookies on the fly.

As I understand it, the rooks are already doing virtual offseason training, including diving into the playbook ("so that everyone is on the same page.")

Raises the question of where the rooks gain and lose ground under the revised MO - i.e.,mental, physical, conditioning, timing, team-play, field awareness etc.
