This is what happens on winning teams.

If starters are out the player that takes their place has got to step up. Now, that doesn't mean that the replacement will perform at the same level as the starter (although sometime there is a pleasant surprise), but that from a team perspective there is a minimal drop-off in play.

For the Cardinals, Pace has come in a stepped up his play in replacing Okeafor. Now others (Blackstock, Tafoya) will have to step-up their games so that there is not too great a drop off in the play of the Cardinals D.

played "well" is a bit of an overstatement IMO. He's been serviceable, doing decent in pass blocking, but his run blocking leaves a lot of the be desired. Although you can say that of the entire O-line now, even with everyone healthy. They look like a DG running team again. That's disconcerting considering how good they looked healthy the first couple games of the season.

I think you have to consider Warner and his gimpy arm as a major factor on why we are having problems running the ball. I put more blame on that, than Elton Brown's play.

I agree. We aren't going to run right, especially inside as well with Warner.

Any running problems we had on Sunday versus the Lions were not generally the line's fault. They opened some monster holes that closed before Edge could take full advantage, IMO.
