How about a trade of Johnson for Fitzgerald? I know we all are in love with Fitz, but still, at present is Johnson a better player? Texans might see this as a reasonable way to let Johnson get out of town.

Can't trade Fitz since it would accelerate about $30 million in bonus money against the cap this season. This conversation is useless now since he pretty much has a no trade clause due to the way his contract is setup, so please stop it.

4 years ago, absolutely. I wouldn't pay much more than the league minimum for him now.

Worst trade idea I've ever heard. Fitz just took a paycut to stay with the team and you want to trade him for an older consistently busted up (imo worse) Johnson. Trade idea was so terrible I had to comment.

Don't think they will find a trade partner which means he will be cut. He will sign for much less than Fitz is getting for sure.

I wouldn't trade anything for him. The guy is just about done.

It's a Fitz situation, almost, but he doesn't have the character or willingness to sacrifice his role at this point in his career.

That's regardless of Fitz being the better player and face of this franchise.

he did have 85 catches for almost a thousand yards while rotating through 4 lousy QBs last year.

True. I had him on my fantasy team and he killed me. ;)

Texans cut him today. I've always felt that Johnson was one of the most overrated players in the NFL, his inability to contribute in the red zone paints the picture of a good possession receiver in the open field but cannot get open, or make the big catches, when the field gets short.

Never had double digit TDs in his career and has averaged less than 4 a year the past 4 seasons.
