Reportedly, the Raiders are about to bench Kerry Collins and look prepared to turn over the reigns of the QB position for now (and the forseeable future) to Marques Tuiasosopo.

I'd think that vote of confidence makes Andrew Walter somewhat expendable. So, what do you guys think? Would you be willing to see Arizona trade a third for him?

Uh, no. I don't think he's going to be a good pro. I'm not interested in him at all, and I'm an ASU fan.

Besides, if Tuiasasopo plays well the expendable guy will be Collins, not Walter. Collins has a huge bump in pay coming.

Unlikely, the rumor is Walter may be playing the last few weeks. Basically they are probably showcasing Tui if anything. They made it very clear they really like Walter.

It's almost like Davis wants to play Tui so he can prove to people he's not the guy. He hasn't taken a snap in 2 years so Raiders fans have forgotten how he played, the guy has been in the NFL since 2001 and has never thrown a TD pass in an NFL game.

Just about every Raider postgame show they'll say something about Walter. The last one they asked about Tui and the insider guy said they're much higher on Walter.

I was listening to last night's game on the way back from the City. The Raider announcers are the biggest homers in the entire universe. They crack me up.

Walter's been injured all season, I think. If he ever gets healthy, they'll take a look at him. He could very well be a young Kerry Collins, only with his head on straight. They may have gotten huge value out of that pick.

"..And in this corner.."

In "today's NFL" I think we need a better all-around athlete to play QB.. I never liked AW's athleticism, just his long-ball arm.. I want a mobile, fast thinking, decisive LEADER for our Cards!! What about Daunte Culpepper?

Hey Cronos--

What's the deal with every post starting with, "And in this corner..."?

they are really bad, Bill King was the greatest RIP they haven't been the same since.
Walter is not injured he's just #3. Today's paper all but says they're starting Tui but even in that article the writer said turner inmplied they were looking for a spark, if Tui provides it they'll give him the job next year, if he bombs out, Walter will play out the year. Collins is gone, you can't bench him now and go back to him later with a 12 million caphit next year they can save by cutting him.

I saw AW play in the preseason and he looked awesome . I can see why the Raiders are high on him. Tui has also looked good when he has played but he was injured way too easily.

Not to mention his knee being shot to hell. He tore all 3 ligaments in his knee.

He'll be rehabbing for the next 2 years

Ive seen a lot of people say AW wont be a good NFL QB. I think he is definately a system QB. He needs to be in a vertical passing game like he was in at ASU, it fits his strengths. Luckily, with a deep threat like Moss, he should be able to do that in Oakland, I wish him the best. Though, I dont think he would fit on the Cardinals. Now Sam Keller or Rudy Carpenter...hmmm...
