If you come at Sean McVay, prepare to feel the Wrath of Whitworth.
McVay has been hitting the gym every morning with Andrew Whitworth and this week, a video of him squatting was shared online. It was seemingly an impressive clip of the Rams coach putting in work but former NFL linebacker Will Compton didn’t think much of it.
Compton, who was actually in Washington with McVay from 2014-2016, chimed in and said it’s “the equivalent of squatting 135.”
“Anybody could do this,” he tweeted.
Well, that’s where Whitworth stepped in to defend his coach. Whitworth somehow had a clip ready from his days in Cincinnati where he got 8 yards downfield to put a block on Compton, allowing Giovani Bernard to score a touchdown.
“Speaking of things feeling easy!” Whitworth clapped back.
Compton replied with a clip of his own from that game where he intercepted Andy Dalton.
There doesn't appear to be any real bad blood between Whitworth and Compton, but Big Whit certainly won this round of their Twitter feud. It may not have been a pancake block but how many left tackles can move like he did on that play?
And that was in 2016 when he was a 35-year-old Pro Bowler, so it's not as if he was a spry 25-year-old.
