2021 - Prove It
I saw the report for the USC kind, but must have missed the others. Who else did they meet with? This is what I thought but then they had meetings with about 4 safeties projected to go from the 3rd to 5th.

I could look at any of these groups and see someone I’d be okay with bumping in each one if the right player fell. With no immediate desperate need the BPA argument gains more strength than usual Cards-wise. I could also see a DL in round 3 as there’s quite a bit of favorable history on those choices. So, in terms of the defense, here is my summary.
DL - Rounds 1-2 only
EDGE - Likely rounds 1-5
ILB - Likely rounds 3-5 (maybe round 2)
CB - probably not, maybe rounds 4-5
S - probably not
I see this as accurate. SMB played much better late in the season. Unless they see an immediate #1, I’d pass. I don’t see one.I get this but feel that the only CB really vulnerable is Clark. I don't love SMB but I don't think he is awful. Also adding a high draft pick CB just limits the ability for other young CBs to get reps. This perspective is helped by not being very high on Will Johnson.
I’m surprised Elijah Moore hasn’t signed unless I missed it.I'd really like to add a deep threat, someone like Tony Horton, and a vet, someone like Tyler Lockett. This room could be vastly improved for not much money.

Brit, I feel dirty that you and I aren't arguing over pre-draft...well, anythingIsaac Gifford, Shamari Simmons, and I'm sure I saw they met with Makuba but I can't find it now.
Thank you.Isaac Gifford, Shamari Simmons, and I'm sure I saw they met with Makuba but I can't find it now.
In the 18-21 range. Depends on what you are looking at. Rushing 7-11.I've read many posts that list WR as a need. And, on the surface they all seem reasonable. I've already asked this question but, as far as I know, I didn't see an answer. My question was/is where were we ranked in Passing Offense?

Really, I wanted to stop by to say that this thread, and the posts Brit started that inspired it, is really good stuff.

For me the category that matters most is total yards. Would that be bottom third as well?Top of bottom third in most categories.
YikesILB
Mack Wilson
Akeem Davis-Gaither
Mykal Walker
Owen Pappoe
Needless to say, all of these players are upgradable but it is more about how much does Monti want to invest to upgrade them. This is a rounds 1-5 option, but based on how Monti has valued the position so far, I would say it's more likely 2-5. Pappoe seems to be on the outside looking in, but they also could be happy with where he is at. I could see Monty being happy with throwing a 5th at Bassa from Oregon.

When I run through mock draft simulations, I think the sweet spot for WR is round 3, but obviously that's just a simulation. I think Jaylin Noel is a decent fit for what the Cardinals need.In the 18-21 range. Depends on what you are looking at. Rushing 7-11.
The biggest issues were the defense getting off the field and poor 3rd and medium/long conversion rates for the offense. Those both limited possessions. Red zone offense was also pretty bad.
There was a lot of average with the Cardinals passing offense in 2024. But also a lot of mid to bad with the defense. Personally, I would prefer to add early draft talent to the OL and defensive front while throwing a mid rounder at WR with this particular draft class.
Agree. Round 3 is the first spot where I feel WR might be BPA.When I run through mock draft simulations, I think the sweet spot for WR is round 3, but obviously that's just a simulation. I think Jaylin Noel is a decent fit for what the Cardinals need.
Tory HortonAgree. Round 3 is the first spot where I feel WR might be BPA.
The P90 guy?Tony Horton
Does he have good hands ?Horton a top 3 vertical threat WR in this draft
Likely a third round pick cause he missed some games last season
Who do you like there?Agree. Round 3 is the first spot where I feel WR might be BPA.
