I'd glady take Geno Smith no matter who our next coach is. Keim was scouting him personally, so hopefully we are serious about making a run at the best QB available in the draft. Reid or McCoy sound like the best options if we do get a mobile QB like Geno.

I think with Reid and talent which he could mold in Geno Smith, it is not out of the realm of possibilities we could bounce back with a playoff appearance

Well I am not going to get too worked up over the idea of Reid at this point, it would be bad for my hairline. But I think it would be a huge mistake to make him a HC. He owes a lot of his success to the late Jim Johnson. The Reid since Johnson departed was a bad coach who could not make adjustments in games and had teams renowned for sloppy and stupid football. Very good talent evaluator and good at selling his ideas (which really is a lot of what head coaching is about) but I dont think he will ever win big because he regularly gets out coached in games... and sometimes beats himself with really awful decisions late.

I'm not sure about Andy Reid right now he looks like a beaten man. all the stuff that happened with his family and his son he just looks worn, defeated, and depressed.

Maybe I'm naive, but Michael Bidwill sounded like a man with a fire in his belly today, and a resolve to bring a winning team to fruition. I think the Super Bowl trip did more than wet his whistle. I think he'll make a sound decision, or the best one he can, unencumbered by money, pundits or public opinion....

No good coach wants to come here. Take it for what it is worth.

That's probably why he's interested in the Cards. Philly is brutal in regards to fans, media and pressure. Coming to Phoenix is a 180... Change of scenery could be just what he needs.

Or maybe not, I'm just typing. Lol

I agree with this. In comparison to Philly or a lot of other places there isn't nearly as much pressure to win here and he would likely get some leeway to turn this team around.

I think Whiz is a good coach and he chose to come here. No, things didn't end well, but a good coach nonetheless.

A month after the super bowl he forced Warner to go to our rival before offering him what he was worth and then a year later sat on 30 million dollars after purging and losing a huge chunk of the playoff roster. Whatever the super bowl did, it didn't wet his whitle to do what good owners do financially speaking.

Especially the good up and coming coaches, like Mike McCoy or Bruce Arians. It may be less likely that we get an established coach, but we obviously have a chance because Andy Reid is at least willing to come in here and interview and I would certainly call him a good HC.

Agreed, but he came here because Pittsburgh and all the other teams did not want him.. But I agree, I think he is a good coach.

Especially the good up and coming coaches, like ... Bruce Arians.

Bruce Arians is 60 and has spent his entire career jumping from one job to another. If he's up-and-coming, the NFL coaching talent pool has run dry.

Doesn't change the fact that he has never been a head coach before. Whether it was due to lack of offers or from turning down offers. Either way he hasn't been a HC yet, but looked good this year with Pagano out.

On one hand Reid is one of the most qualified HCs ever.

On the other he made personnel moves like making Juan Castillo (Oline Coach) his DC.

So I question his decision making.

We are reported to be interested in Bill O'Brian

Everyone is. But

1. Hes got better options then AZ

2. Hed never leave PSU after 1 year on the job. Classy guy.

3. His buy out would require the crown jewels.

so you question one decision which makes you put in doubt any decision he makes, that makes sense :D

1. I suggest that we hire Andy Reid and we resign Kolb to a reasonable deal.

2. We sign Michael Vick to a minimal deal in the off season.(gives us two choices at the QB position) based on those guys history neither will complete a season unscathed. However if healthy they both are better than any other quarterback we have had in Arizona since Warner. I don't see anyone else better avaiailbe. It there is got for it.

3. We draft Barkley in the 2nd or 3rd round. Take a risk and see if we can develop him. He reportedly has all the tools. If he doesn't take the best QB available.

4. We sign the biggest, baddest and best OL in the 1st round.

5. We use the rest of our picks on the Best player avaialalbe and go after the best free agents available. Cromartie anyone?

I also want Beanie Wells and Darnel Dockett back as well.

We become watchable again and who knows what might happen. I think this team has enough talent to compete with anyone.

If Horton is willing to stay so be it if he is not we just move on. IMO our defense was not as special as some might think. I expect there are other folks that Andy Reid has connections with that can be brought in. We have very good talent on that side of the ball, the coach really is not my concern.

I really hope we get Reid. I have respected his teams forever. I am excited about a new start but am not ready to get rid of some of the players that were apparently in Whiz's doghouse.

Go Cardinals
