When I came to this board this morning, the first thing I noticed is that there is an alarmingly increasing number of frustrated fans around here. It was at least 2 weeks ago when I said we should 'blow it up'. At that time, maybe 2 people agreed with me. The majority of others accused me of being knee-jerk in spite of the fact that I have been a fan for 16 years and have witnessed the same failed philosophy for just as long.

Now, as I read these threads, it is clear that I am not nearly as alone as I was 2 weeks ago. I think it is safe to say that most of you would be happy to lose D'Antoni. I also think it is safe to say that most of you are now at least open to trading Amare. On top of that, the AZ Republic has picked up on this trend of big guys going off on the Suns (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/1225sunsnb.html).

Now, I'm going to create a poll to gauge how everyone feels. I'll set the poll to close in 10 days. If nothing happens personnel-wise or coaching-wise with the Suns in the next month, I'm going to do another poll with the same premise.

So, the question is, what changes would you make? Please explain....

Not a Suns fan, but if I were running the team, I do this;

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=125~2444~1727&teams=21~21~7&te=&cash=

If you are a GM, you have to build your team to beat the top teams in your conference.

This deal also saves you $2.5M/year over the next two seasons and Camby's contract expires a year earlier than Amare.

As much as I love Camby and think that he would be a perfect fit for the Suns...

Amare >> Smith/Camby.

I wouldn't do any of your options, so I guess I have to choose nothing.

Shawn would be the first to go though if a trade was definitely happening.

Oh, and we don't need to know that you aren't a Suns fan...... again

Regardless of how badly Amare is performing at the moment, that trade shoots Denver straight past us and puts them in the West top 3 teams bracket.

'Melo, A.I and Amare....

I think the big man to go after is actually Fransico Elson from the Spurs. He plays decent defense (although not up to Popovich's liking, but better than anything else the Suns have) and is fast. Tony Parker is the only Spur that can beat him down the floor. He has a very good 18 foot jumper and is great on the fast break. And he only is making $3 million this year, so he won't break the bank. The Spurs have a bunch of bigs with 2 more coming in next year, so he might be had while keeping the core in tact.

If I were Kerr I'd do the easiest things first: 1) hold a (symbolic) gun to D'Antoni's head and force him to play his bench more; 2) hire a defensive minded assistant coach; 3) hire a big man assistant coach. With luck 2 and 3 might be combined. Trades are not only disruptive they are also very difficult when teams know you are dealing from desperation.

In a van...down by the river.
My vote went to Marion & a filler.(smaller pieces)
My thing is, nothing is going to change much as long as DA is on the sidelines.
Hopefully Kerr has a plan for next season that doesn't involve DA and is considering getting some value for Marion now before he walks. Get anyone to play the 5 behind Amare that doesn't demand the ball that can defend in the post, block shots, and rebound. CAMBY

Two quotes from Coro's article this morning (on the Amare/Skinner front court):

Amare:

"Stoudemire, as vocal as ever after Phoenix lost for the fifth time in eight games, stayed that way as he yelled out commands during Wednesday's practice scrimmages and then talked about the team playing smarter and "getting on the same page."
"We've got to get to the point where everybody's working and putting in time and effort to earn a championship," Stoudemire said. "I might have to speak up more and play harder. I'm playing hard, but from a leadership standpoint, I'll try to carry the load."

Nash:

"We just need to shut up and play, really play hard."

Nash, a man who has overcome all odds, a man who gives his absolute all everytime he is on the floor, must be getting sick of looking over at Amare loafing and then boasting about what he wants to become. Nash is the epitome of "Just do it"....

This just seems like a selfish reaction for how badly he got owned vs the lakers. He should be mad at himself and not throw some martyrdom type comment out there like how he has to carry the load as a leader.

He's not even carrying his own load!

Get some NUTS!

Although some things said in interviews may not come out quite as intended, I can't help but read a lot into that one comment. Everyone, including Amare -- or maybe especially Amare -- knows that Nash leads this team in every sense of the word.

That's exactly what Amare was saying. With the load on Nash's back alone is not doing it anymore! And Amare at least for one game backed his words up.
