Winning those last 8 or so games I thought was largely a result of a good defense last year. Am I wrong on that? If they were that good last year against some good teams why would we expect them to be worse this year? I think our DB situation has actually improved over last year. In the end it will be the QB who decides the fate of this team. Not the DL. It is the QB who decide the fate of most NFL teams and the QB is always the most important position on any team. Some teams out there have better backups than we will start and we would do well to sign or get one who may be dropped. I would even sign Vince Young at this point. I really do not think both our #1 and#2 QB will make it through the season without injury.
2009!

The positive article is no longer available if you hit the link, and the statement provided pretty much sums up being a fan of the Cards with the current QB and OT problems.

"Not Found
We respect your curiosity! But, what you are looking is not present here. Don't be disappointed, keep the spirits high, keep learning, keep finding! Curiosity is good, first step towards innovation."

LOL!

did anyone happen to save the article?

I predict Kurt Warner will retire shortly and we will suffer for the next 3 years under atrocious Quarterbacking. Levi will also go down and be out for the season sometime around 2012. We won't make the playoffs for at least the next 3 years.

I am so dam old I thought it was 2009. What year is it anyway? Where is Kurt Warner? Who is Kolb and some guy named Skelton. I have to go now because I need another double Beefeaters martini. I am so confused. Thanks for telling me what year it is.

This whole tired trade for Gary Hogeboom is a disaster, we should have never given up a 2nd and DRC for that. Chris Chandler just can't stay healthy even when he is doing alright, and this kid Gelbaugh is hardly the answer if Tupa fails...we just need a crap vet like Kent Graham and play conservative or maybe a gunslinger like Jeff Blake. Screw it, I say we just go with what we have and then we can draft a good QB like Rosenbach next year or maybe that Leinart kid will fall to us or we can gamble on that Plummer kid who has a ton of moxie :)

My goodness that made me laugh!! :lmao:

Thanks John and Mulli!

Welcome to the board Mulli. We have a lot of well informed posters here who seldom disagree. Most know what year it is but some think they know the final solution to our many problems. 2009 is not a bad year when you think about it. If one has the capability to go back in time when things were better it is a big plus for your sanity. I was just thinking it was 1945 and I was at the World Series at Wrigley playing Detroit. Everything was going well to some guy named Hank Greenberg who had just got out of the army started hitting home runs. Reality has just returned me to the present and I find my Cubs are headed for a 100 loss season and some guy named Theo Epstein brought in his new Billy Ball philosophy which promises us a good team in five years. He tells us we must endure this 100 loss a season pain for 4.5 more years. Strangely our attendance is falling. Why should we not all be happy to lose 100 games a season knowing that in 5 years we may be a competitive team. We should apply Billy Ball philosophy to our football team. Would you be happy if our owner said in 5 years we will grow our own players and maybe we will be winners? Does that not sound awesome to you? I am told this guy Epstein is a genius so he must be right, although the team he just left (Boston) has fallen apart. I will be so happy to see the Cubs season come to an end so I can watch our Cards take it to the other teams. Life is good in my sports world of going back in time and forgetting what year it is.
