If you're watching the Jets/Steelers game, did you notice who was out in front of Santana moss throwing a sealing block on that big punt return, yep #34 himself LaMont Jordan.

Yea I have seen him several times now. I am 100% convinced HE is the guy for us.

I sure hope he is a Cardinal next year!

Franchise him? Why pay a backup RB 6 million a year? Unless they Transition him, but if somebody signs him as a transition they only surrender the round he was drafted in. But if it is a transition tag the Jets can match any contract.

I like him as well but from what I've read the jets are going to tag him. So he's not really an option.

They can't. No way in hell can they tag him. Unless they cut Martin, which won't happen because, A-he led the league in rushing and B-it would kill their cap. And, you can't pay 2 RB top RB money. Ain't gonna happen.

Nope. If they put the transition tag on him, they get absolutely nothing in return. More often than not that tag is just used for show.

If they put Transition Tag on him that means they cant use their Franchise tag on Abraham. You can only use one or the other. Plus all the transition tag means is that the Jets would get the right to match any offer another team give Jordan, and get nothing in return if they do not match. Plus if Jordan does get the Transition tag any team can easily setup a conract that is front loaded so the Jets can not match becuase they wont have a lot of cap space this offseason.

I think the cost of tagging Johnson is likely prohibitive unless they intend to trade Martin. Depending on his contract that might make sense.

On the other hand, Jordan's price will likely skyrocket based on his recently showcased play. I can't see Green spending those kind of bucks on him with a high draft choice in hand and no killer linemen on the board.
