It absolutely amazes me that these reporters and sports talkshow hosts go into interviews so unprepared. On Sports Tonight just now Tom Zemmer interviewed Frank Johnson (actually I believe the interview was Thursday night). He kept referring to Cabarkapa as the inside presence the Suns have been looking for. You would think he would know that the Phoenix Suns are not bringing him in as an inside presence but as someone to spread the floor with his shooting. I mean Cabarkapa has been linked to the Phoenix Suns for almost a month now.

Sorry for the rant

I guess 7 footers are so rare in Phoenix that anyone that size is, by default, considered an inside presence.

He must just be confused.

We already DO have an inside presence.

His name is Amare Stoudemire...

I was listening some idiot on the radio praising the Lakers for picking up Luke Walton, because he is a terrific defender on 2 and 3 spots.

P.S. I am not kidding.

There was a blurb in the L.A. Times yesterday(one of the most "if they don't play for my team, I'm gonna be completely stupid and arrogant about them" papers on the planet), saying that the Suns did well with their draft picks, but that they've had a lot of bad judgement in the past, and cited the Kidd for Marbury trade.

hey guys, I am in DC right now, thats why I havent posted ina while. Ill be back on the 5th thoug, just a couple of intermitent posts till then.

About the LA times comment on the trade. Personally, I think at this point, while 80% of the media is still talking about the suns making the bad trade, at least 90% of the GMs in the league would make the same deal now. Especially after watching this past season, his dedication to surgery right after the season, and the togetheress of the team. Most media outets, except for local ones will ever realize the chemistry this tem has, however I think we can assume that every team exec has a good idea of how eac locker room is settling.

The facts after the trade pretty muc speak for themselves.

Kidd is a FA, and if he is considering leavin NJ, he would have definitely been gone from PHX

Marbury is 5 years younger, and puts up the same numbers.

The Kidd makes his players better arguement is fading fast, Marion is playing better with Marbury then he did with Kidd. (People used to say Kidd made Marion look better than he was)

Anyways, w have killed those topics. I just wish papers would stick to their local areas, unless they are very knowledgeable about a situation with another team.

This is from Dr. Jack's chat on ESPN.com today. You team means that Penny Hardaway could opt out of his contract after next season, but what does that have to do with the price of rice in China? He's not going to do it.

Joe Mama

Jimmy(Phoenix,AZ): Good afternoon Dr. Jack, is there any free agents the Suns might be able to bring in over the Summer? P.J. or Olowakandi would be great fits I think, have you heard anything? Thanks

Dr. Jack Ramsay: Not sure what the Suns are thinking...they had a good draft...they like Cabarkaba, and getting Barbosa was a steal...Googs is a free agent at his option...which means he'll probably stay put for this year...Penny is free after the coming season...so the Suns cap space will be better next year to pick up free agents....

lol......yeah like Penny would opt out of his contract after the season so that he could sign for the veteran minimum or at best the mid-level exemption.

Here's some more crappy "journalism" (and I use the term loosely):

from Hoopsworld's "The Daily"
Phoenix - The Suns have reportedly been please with Zarko's early workouts. Tsakalidis is coming back from injury and Joe Johnson is a bit of a surprise. The starting lineup will likely look like: Barbosa, Cabarkapa, Tsakalidis, Johnson and Jacobson. Those five could well dominated in Summer League play. An interesting name on the Suns Summer roster is Florent Pietrus, brother of Warrior draft pick, Michael Pietrus. Michael played in the SPL in Long Beach and showcased his talents. Advertised as the Euro-Jordan, he is long and athletic. He runs the court very well and throws down the most exciting dunks. He definitely lacks experience, however. He is very dependent on his athleticism and attacks the basket no matter what is in front of him. Look for Michael to have turnovers and early fouls, but he could develop into a star. It will be interesting to see if Florent possesses any of the same skills.

Half of their report on the Suns is about Michael Pietrus who was drafted by the Warriors!!! Just because we have his brother on our rookie league team doesn't mean you have to give us Michael's life story.

That person had a hard enough time writing a complete sentence, you can't expect then to actually stay on topic too.

Hoopsworld blows chunks. The guy running the site is a huge Rockets fan and hardly ever has anything positive to say about the Suns.
