Much different than last one I did where I moved back and accumulated a lot more pics. This way I went the other way and by trading our 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, was able to get a 2nd first round selection:

1-7: Chance Warmack
1-24: Geno Smith

Still have our 3rd-7 and a 6th-8. Might trade down for a later 3rd round pick and recoup our 4th and 5th rounders.

Ongoing Mock Draft

Well, this mock turned out to be all about quality instead of quantity. If Smith would turn out to be a true franchise QB, a draft like this, combined with last years OTs, would certainly set up our OL and QB for years to come.

I had considered taking a RB with this 3rd round pick, but there just weren't any as good as Wells or Williams when healthy. Just wasn't worth using that high of a pick for someone not as good as what you already have in your RBs.

Would still have work to do in FA or in next year's draft to address our D with LB, DE, CB, and S. But with our D good enough to get us through another year, solving our offensive problems is a must this spring. A draft like this should do it.

1-7 – Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
1-24 - Geno Smith, QB, W.V. (from Colts)
3-7 - Travis Frederick, C/G, Wisconsin
6-8 -

Doubtful Geno will make it to 24, however I wouldn't mind picking up Tyler Wilson or Matt Barkley (late first or early second) :newcards:

Just curious as to why Barkley, he won't fit BA's system at all and can't think of a reason why you wouldn't say Mike Glennon

Glennon reminds me too much of Skelton. Big arm but has accuracy and decision making issues. Just because he can throw it deep, doesn't mean he'll be able to place where it needs to go.

Barkley has shown his potential throughout his entire career at USC. Yes he had a disappointing 2012 season, but that doesn't mean he can't bounce back from that with the right coaching (BA and Tom Moore). Although his arm isn't as strong as Glennons, he has more experience, better field vision, better decision making skills and has the intangibles that you just can't teach a QB. There's a reason he was once considered a sure fire #1 overall pick.

The Cardinals offensive staff will be able to tailor the system to fit his skill set, something BA and Tom Moore have stated many times.

Glennon, I think, gets put into having the mind that Skelton has but he really doesn't at all. He doesn't stare down one receiver, he makes pretty good decisions and has great accuracy. NC State had the most dropped passes in the NCAA. He makes adjustments at the line which was the glaring downside to Skelton's game. He just needs some help with his footwork which I believe can be taught.

Arm strength can't be taught. Mechanics and reads can.

Arm strength can be developed though. Drew Brees had what was considered a "weak arm" coming out of college. Not so weak now is it? To me, size and arm strength means very little compared to other traits.

Besides, Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd aren't much of a "deep threat" to begin with. Barkley has a good enough arm to get it there.

But it is what BA will want. His QB's have always had a cannon
