You know, at one time, Boldin was #1 in my heart as a football player. Ever since he ran out of the stadium rather than celebrating the NFC championship with his teammates, he has continually lost respect from me. Last year, he claimed this game was nothing special, but he was taunting our fans, screaming at them, as he left the field.

How much do I not like him now? I don't want him back here, ever. I'll take the two Brown kids over him ever single day of the week.

The only questionable calls were the two back to back when Stanton got clobbered. I thought the first was valid even after the replay, the second I couldn't tell clearly enough - but I'm pretty certain we just out-played them the whole second half.

Sorry Q, try not to screw up against the Eagles.

The first was valid, but I have not seen a replay of Willis' hit that was very clear. If he contacted Stanton's helmet AT ALL, that is now an automatic penalty, period, end of story. So, if he never his stanton in the head, even just a slight glance of a blow, then that was a bad call. If he made any contact with the helmet.... well, that is the rules nowadays.

I thought the first one was legit. It is the action of the slide in progress and not the body touching the ground and skidding to a halt that constitutes a slide. Stanton's body was shifted in the air in a slide position and the guy was coming in head first. The second though, was a clean hit to me in the pocket but for all the dang times refs have not called such a play for the Cards and all the freaking times our DL is held and not called... I will take that one call gladly, plus the ref could call a score more and still not make up for all the cheap hits uncalled by the Niners the last couple of seasons :)

The second flag was called for leading with the crown of his helmet. It had nothing to do with Stanton's head whatsoever. You just can't lead with the crown of your helmet, even when you are hitting someone in the chest. This has been a rule for at least a couple years, but is another point of interest this year.

Jefferson led with his helmet sacking Kaep. Sometimes the calls just go your way.

The first one was a valid penalty. As soon as Stanton began his feet first slide the defender is required to pull up. The Niner LB never pulled up and delivered a massive blow.

The second one was questionable. I couldn't see if Willis led with the crown of his helmet.

Article 6 section i:
using any part of a player’s helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/‖hairline‖ parts) or facemask to butt, spear,
or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily

But he didn't drive it into Kaep in any sort of violent fashion. It looked to me like Willis was trying to put his head straight through Stanton's chest.

I wonder if he'll wear green during that game.

Jefferson led with his helmet right into his crotch. Either both of them should've been called or neither. They also missed a blatant fall start on either Ellington or Hughes on that 4th. Like I said sometimes the calls fall your way.

Ah, that is true. You cannot use the crown of the helmet to lead into a defenseless player which is what Stanton as just delivered the pass.

There were missed calls both ways. This game was not lost because of a few bad calls from the refs.

If the Niners wanted to win the game, maybe they should have gotten more than 23 yards rushing from their RBs. Or how about someone remembering to cover John Brown.

Yup, there were some missed calls we didn't get either. Like the obvious pass int. on Ginn in the end zone - first series I believe it was.

I don't understand anyone complaining about the first call. Stanton had picked up his yares and was in his slide - in today's NFL there was no reason to whack him like that. And to Anuan - thanks for the head butt!

Ok lets go back through the whole game if you want to split hairs and I'll start counting all the pick plays that weren't called on the niners. Guess some calls just fall their way too.

You are rarely going to be called for that if you go for the thigh area. But if you are anywhere close to the head, or in the back or kidney's area, you will get called.

His face was down, he was leading with the crown of his helmet, and Stantons head ripped back like a helmet to helmet contact. If you contact a QB helmet to helmet on a slide, you will get called every time.

The 49ers are no longer a team. The are fracked.

They are 53 players that seem to be on different agenda's.
