This has probably already been discussed, and if so I apologize for being redundant, but I find it very interesting that Anquan and especially his agent have drastically changed their tactics in regards to the contract and trade demands. Anquan and his agent have been eerily quiet ever since the end of the season.

Here are the possible reasons I can see why he has changed his tactics:

1. Anquan is a very smart guy (true) and realizes that he is damaging his image and is not improving the situation by speaking out in the media.

2. Anquan and his agent have decided to delay the public assault on the Cardinals until a more opportune time (draft-Late April).

3. Anquan and the Cardinals have met and the organization has given him a contract offer that may not be exactly what he wants but is significantly more than the offer he recieved last offseason. He sees progress and is willing to allow for more time for a deal to be hashed out.

4. Anquan and the Cardinals have met and have privately agreed to part ways assuming the Cardinals get fair compensation in return. Boldin and his agent agree to stop bashing the Cards publically and agree to help facilitate a trade that is mutually beneficial.

I am leaning more towards #4. I think the Cardinals view Anquan as a fantastic player and core guy, but they also see a team that was 5-1 last year without his services and a team that averaged close to 30 points per game with him on the sidelines. They see an opportunity to seriously improve the talent base of this team, solidify weak areas, and balance the team.

I think #4 is the most probable as well, but part of me thinks they really want him back....

Wow, how's that for a politician type answer.

Maybe a combo of 3 & 4. We'll try to make you happy ($$$$$$) and if we can't, see #4......

My guess is the Cardinals have started listening to the trade offers and Drew has told Boldin to lay low until after the draft. He's not moved by the draft, expect the garbage to start up again.

Agree with number 4. Keep mouth shut and let's get a trade worked out.

Acting like an ass will only hurt the value we get back in a trade.

Damn if he speaks, damn if he doesn't...

That's what happens if you run your mouth off you just can't stop and take it all back. What he did will fallow him the rest of his days in the NFL.

I think Boldin stays, because the cards have him between a rock and a hard place. I don't believe he has it in him to give less than 110%; however, Boldin's one mistake was that he was too late to see how public perception had turned against him by him being reactive rather than proactive. I believe that next year is his final year on the contract extension he signed. if that is true, he'll be at his best, playin for a new contract, and maybe thinking about other than Az...

That may be wishful thinking. I hope your right. We'll see come draft day. Philadelphia's GOT TO spend some money. Who are they going to spend it on?

Wild BB, your logic seems overwhelming. hopefully, the cards win either way, though i would prefer he stay and be made happy.

That's the question. Something is going on in Philly. It doesn't seem that they can get up to the minimum as per the CBA as the roster is currently constructed. And there aren't any free agents out there that would require a huge contract. You've got to be suspicious.

After last year, Philly knows they'll have to blow the Cards away with an offer to get Boldin.I think Lito Sheppard and a 1st was rumored to be the offer last year and that didn't get it done. Maybe a 1st,2nd and either Trevor Laws(weren't the Cards supposed to be interested in him),Chris Gocong, or Victor Abiamiri would get the Cards attention. That may sound like alot but it will take an extreme offer to get him. That would still leave Philly with 9 picks, including a #1, and they have also added Boldin into the mix.

I think you have to throw the rumours of Boldin looking for a new agent into the mix. I don't think #3 applies because the Cards have Dansby and Wilson as priorities ahead of Q. The silence may not mean much of anything, I don't think Boldin has anything to gain by shouting into the abyss at this time- see Edge. Whatever is going on I am glad it is quiet. Boldin may have tired of the contentious dialogue and told his agent we aren't going that route any more. The Cards may have told him we will work out a fair deal with you or for you in a trade...we just don't know.
