Everyone keeps talking trades and getting rid of people. This team went to the first round of the playoffs and almost to the second. If it wasn't for Steph bieng hurt we could of beat the spurs. We should be talking about adding to what we have. Concentrat on th development over this summer for all who need it. We know who they are.

If anyone should go it would be Googs. But what can we get for him. Maybe a lesser contract. Maybe! We obviously need a back up pg. We should shoot for that in the draft. If one isn't available then take what we can. Sign and trade with googs.

Another question.... When are we going to stop playing small ball? It is not working. We have a big man let's use him. He was comming around last year at the end of the year. Him and Steph were working together. Maybe we need a better coach. Remember Frank said in some interview "I just let them play." I alo heard Steph, Penny and Marion say it too. Well, maybe that is why guys are just standing around while Steph gets doubled. I now this team is better than most give it credit but with solid coaching they could go further. There are great coaches available this time.

Not many of us really want a trade of a major sort. Reshuffling around the lower bench is always an option, but nothing major. Most of the board is torn on what to do in the draft, however I think the consensus we have come up with is to draft the best available player left on the board, reguardless of position.

About Googs going, that is also a subject with 2 sides. The suns would probably be able to get a high level talent for him, since his maximum contract is coming off of the books next summer. Basically the same situation as Terrell Brandon. However, Shawn Marion's contract kicks in this season, so most expect the suns to allow googs contract to expire and take the salary relief that would provide.

While no one would argue that we could use a better coach, FJ did lead an over achieving team. The suns management would never spend high dollar for an elite coach, so FJ is staying. Big Jake was hurt in the beginning of the season, then he had surgery and didnt hit the court again till March. At that point we were in the thick of the playoff race for the final spot, so FJ stayed with the rotation for some consistancy. IMO we will not REALLY know Frank's opinion of Jake until next season starts. We will have to wait an see if he will play a healthy Jake.

BTW, Welcome to the board!

"While no one would argue that we could use a better coach, FJ did lead an over achieving team."

The team over achieved compared to the media pundits predictions because we had a rookie PF who didn't play like a rookie. And Penny accepted his role, more or less. Heck, if you look at that top 40 list of players at season's end, the Suns had 3 in the teens - probably the best showing of any team in the league!
I don't know in what way Frank led the team - he had to scrap his offense and the defense, which started out great, went to pot when FJ started instituting his ideas - don't you recall him saying he was having to yank out his stuff because the guys couldn't execute it? More accurately, the team did as well as it did in spite of him.

"The suns management would never spend high dollar for an elite coach, so FJ is staying."

FJ is staying, I'm sure, but I don't attribute it to JC being a cheapskate. Not only won't he hire an established coach he won't even do a reasonable search through the ranks of the top assistants around the league. He wants a coach that is totally beholden to him for having the job because he knows he got without being qualified. It's like he'd rather come in fifth or eigth than win it all and have to share the glory with a real coach. I suppose that sounds a bit far fetched but I'd like to hear another explanation for his persistent, ridiculous choices of head coaches.

Well, FJ ended the season crowing about how 'small ball' almost got them by the No. 1 seed so I expect it back with a vengeance next year. I imagine Big Jake will play in 4 games next year unless we happen to meet the Lakers in the playoffs...
