His shooting might improve but he's not a strong rebounder and not even an average defender - and these things are not likely to change - so it would be a waste of time and effort to bring him in.

On second thought, he might help in the hunt for ping-pong balls, so we ought to waste the time and effort when it might do some good.

That's something he doesn't have much of either

Please no Bennett. Trade Knight + anyone not named Devin for a half decent PF. Or the best PF you can get.

Watching the video on Bennett, not sure why he doesn't get a chance. Sure being a #1 was bad, but should be a serviceable PF, like a Brandon Bass.

Exactly. I do not see any harm in giving Anthony Bennett a test drive for the 15th roster slot. It's not like the Suns are stocked at PF.

He is bad at shooting, bad on defence bad, on the glass, he is lazy and injury prone. I can see the fit if we sign and we're tanking, but not if we want a basketball player.

For the rest of season, why not? Then again, I'd be fine watching the Gorilla get some burn in a game.

I'd rather see what EJ has left in the tank than watch Bennett. He is probably still a better player.

We are cycling through 10 days NBDL players. Sure bring in Bennett for a try.

might as well bring Michael Beasley back as well. I think Bennett will have to hit rock bottom if there's any chance he's going to dedicate himself enough to be a good NBA player. This is a team in desperate need of more talent, especially at forward and I have no interest in Anthony Bennett.

The Rockets beat us to it, they already signed Beasley. The blurb at the bottom of the screen also said that he was MVP in China for whatever that's worth.

I don't think it matters. IMO Bennett never had the talent to be anything beyond a decent bench player. His laziness isn't causing much to go to waste because there just isn't much to work with.

If Cleveland had not done that insane reach for him and he'd been drafted around where most people had him pegged... somewhere between 10-14, people wouldn't even be batting an eye that he got released and its really unlikely that teams would make much of an effort to give him a look.

Yea like Catlover said, Morey beat us to it to sign Beasley.

Another option would be Oden :biglaugh:

People used to say some of the same stuff about Whiteside.

Trying out Bennett is no different than picking up any other DLeaguer for a 10 day.

Agreed. He actually played pretty well for the Canadian team I heard. No particular hopes, just a d-leaguer type look.

Wow, I see why you sarcastically posted that, but even then, this seems pretty far out there in comparison to Anthony Bennett.

Yes, it's a joke that's intentionally exaggerated, specifically designed to be a blast from the past.

If you want to take a flyer on someone random, there are better choices than Bennett. Andrew Bynum, Larry Sanders, and Greg Oden are just off the top of my head.

I wouldn't want Beasley back here but don't be surprised if he does help Cleveland a bit... he had some good moments with the Heat. Heck, I wouldn't be shocked if playing in China somehow got his head straightened out and he helps the Cavs quite a bit.

Maybe they could bend the rules for the Suns and allow the Gorilla's rope dunks from the rafters to be legal in a game. I mean, gotta give the fans some sort of reason to come out, right?

I don't think he will be much help to Cleveland playing for Houston ;)
