In the Cowboys game an incorrectly called Horse Collar Tackle was called that likely enable the Boys to get a TD before halftime. It marginally kept them in the game. An official in the booth could have quickly corrected that call. In the Lions game Goff was driving for at least a field goal again before halftime. The officials called a false start that overhead cameras clearly showed was offsides. Again costing the Lions likely points. Field officials don’t have that replay. Why doesn’t the NFL use a booth official to correct obvious errors? It would add only a few minutes, but get it right more often. The NCAA does it.
