We now see why he was cut. He talked himself out of town.

"If we play the Redskins 100 times, we would win 99 times."

I guess he meant starting this weekend, since the Redskins have now swept the Giants this year.

And yet, "Hollywood" Rhodes has been a better teammate and member of our community, and I believe player.

No care ever about Antron Antics.

But some people on this board still lament his leaving and insist we would be a better team with him. Go figure.

I didn't want to see him go, but that's because the club has a history of creating new holes to fill rather than filling the ones that already exist. I'm pleased we upgraded to Rhodes, but would have been fine with the decision to retain Rolle and get a starting OT or OLB.

Once again, it's not a black and white "he sucks" or "we should have kept him--he's a two-time pro-bowler" argument.

true...Trell made lots of mistakes in coverage, but damn was he electric when he made a play, and he made a lot of plays for us.

Was electric when the ball was in his hands, but that didn't happen quite enough for the amount of coverages he blew. Hasn't done squat in NY either: 2 INT's and 7 pass deflections in 30 games. Rashad has 7 PD's and 1 INT in his last 30 games...

Funny how this is the most recent pic of him on yahoo, good old Antron:

(I didn't even know he was capable of wrapping up on a tackle)

How many Division Titles have the Cards won with Rhodes at FS? Heck, how many winning seasons have the Cards had with Rhodes at FS? Rolle took us to the Super Bowl. He is the greatest FS in Cardinal history. I just can't understand how you morons can bash him.

Been saying it all year, he's (Rolle) not a good fit for our D. Too undisciplined. I don't just mean his mouth, but his play. His mouth has gotten him into trouble this year. Who says that, and why? I mean, to say you'd beat someone 99 times out of 100 and then lose both games, that just makes you look like an idiot. I'm glad he's gone, he's too undisciplined to play on this defense. Way too undisciplined, obviously.

(Granted, we'd probably have a few INT's returned for TD's, but we'd also have tons of blown assignments for TD's against us. Way too undisciplined to play for us, I'm glad he's with the Giants, to be honest)

Since everybody seems to still have interest, thought I'd bump this.
Oh yeah, he just made a big play in the Giants biggest game of the year.

Antonio Smith-new team in playoffs
Anquan Boldin-new team in playoffs
Antron Rolle-new team in playoffs

Is there a pattern here?

Come on Graves we have to re sign Alais Campbell.

You forgot to add that Dansby knocked blowhard Ryan and the Jets out of the playoffs, just as good imo

There is no pattern there, other than they played on the Cardinals.
I agree the team needs to resign Campbell, but I don't believe the players you named had substantial impact, nor were in the top reasons those teams reached the playoffs (but it's a team game and they helped make the playoffs. I'm not trying to be a dick, just saying they're not the reason).

Texans have played exceptional team defense.
Ravens? Ray Rice and Suggs.
Rolle? That defensive line with help from Manning and Cruz.

Here's a list of former Cards in the playoffs (plus those Duck named):
Brandon Johnson (CIN)
Bryant Johnson (TEX)
Neil Rackers (HOU)
Antonio Smith (HOU)
Matt Leinart (HOU)
Leonard Davis (DET)
Vanden Bosch (DET)
Bryant McFadden (PIT)
................................................................................
And for fun recent former-Cards not in the playoffs:
Calvin Pace (NYJ)
Karlos Dansby (MIA)
DRC (PHI)
Anthony Becht (KC)
Stevie Phantom (KC)
Leonard Pope (KC)
Jehreme Urban (KC)
Thomas Jones (KC)
Alan Branch (SEA)
Tim Hightower (WAS)

There are only three guys I think could have made positive long-term contributions. Branch, Pace and Dansby. I'm not positive Branch is what they're looking for in the Horton DE, so maybe that's why he got to sign someplace else.
