I say keep him. Come out an anoint him the starter. He still has something left in the tank.
Do you think he'd try to hold out or do you think he'd play if kept? He's worthless a trade asset.
And he's not as big a distraction as the fans think.
Smart money (translation: the mainstream media) says no. (He doesn't want to be here, the Cards seem to be moving in another direction, the $5-mil cap space etc.)
I'd like him to be back.
First of all, his productivity (or lack thereof, depending on whom you're talking to) was, in my opinion, less to do with Edge and more to do with the Cardinal offensive scheme early and mid-season.
What I like about Edge is that, when he hammers between the tackles, he runs with extremely low pad-level and typically will create an additional 3 or more yards after contract than just about any RB out there.
The Cards, in my opinion, need more than just a couple of quick guys who can make draw plays go and/or catch out of the backfield. There are certain circumstances in games against certain kinds of defenses where you need someone who can pound it up between the tackles. Until we draft someone like that or pick one up in free agency, Edge fills this void.
And he's kind of cool. (His teammates like him).

Good to see your agent come thru for you.
So, how is Drew Rosenhaus anyway?
They're not going to release Edge until they have a replacement. He may have to wait until after FA and the draft. He may not like it but that's the smart way to go for the Cardinals.

Its crap like this that makes players look poorly upon this organization! You know you don't want him let him go so he can find work elsewhere holding onto him until its to late is basically screwing him over, oh and you better believe other players around the league see that and its not a good perception to have.
ezzzzzzzackly. We're here to win games, not make friends. They're not doing it to "screw him over". The Cards have to take care of their own business first. Once we have a suitable replacement for Edge he will be set free. Egde can complain all he wants but thats business.
