Just got back. Couple of quick notes:
Jonathan Cooper is good. I mean really, really good. As in, really good. I was stunned at how fast he hands off one rusher, turns and picks up another.
BA is WAY more involved than any other head coach I've seen at camp. He is one-on-one often and stands right there in the mix.
Michael Floyd seems to be Carson's favorite target. I've been reading it alot but today I saw it with my own two eyes. Floyd is also much farther along than he was last camp.
Jaron Brown and Charles Hawkins were targeted many times. It was odd how many times they were thrown to while Roberts was ignored (and dropped the one pass he was thrown).
As good as Coop is, Calais still taught him he's a rookie. Beat him on an inside twist.
Stepfan is running with the ones and is pretty darn good in pass pro.
Carson still makes those head-scratcher throws for int's. Not like Skelton or Lindley where it is thrown poorly and picked off, he's just making throws he has no business making and getting picked.
Mathieu is insane. The kid is all over the place.
Ellington has some nice quicks to him.
Bethel has come along way in coverage since last year.
I saw Feely make a feild goal from the 46 yard line. Impressive.
BA's staff does more one-on-one coaching than the previous staff. They correct things immediately.
There is a whole lot more standing around than in the many previous camps I've been to. Usually everyone has something to do. Not so much this one.
Lindley just sucks.
That's about it. Got to meet Los and Sam Acho. I told Sam I loved him and didn't get the same reaction that little girl got. I felt cheated. (I kid).
Lindley just sucks.
Bert, thanks for the video and stills.
I thought with more coaches and attention, there would be less standing around.

Just wondering about Lindley. Only negative reports about him, and yet he seems to get a lot of reps. I'm sure the Purdue QB is probably only a TC body, but it seems he never plays. Is it possible that the coaches see something in #14 to make him worth developing? Or will he be cut and someone picked up off the waiver wire to either make the roster or go to the PS?
I think it is basically a rehearsal to see if he will even be worth keeping on the PS. I don't expect he will even be put on the PS either.Just wondering about Lindley. Thanks for the report Brian.
Isn't anybody else concerned that this camp is too soft? I mean no tackling?
How do you evaluate these players?
Not at all - that is what pre-season is for. Vets have their tackling ability on film, so that just leaves the young guys to judge - and do you want a young, amped guy injuring your starters? BA mentioned that he may let the 3's and below do hitting in a goal like drill, but not the 1s and 2s.
