I've always had interest in the Arizona Cardinals but I find myself becoming totally engrossed in the NFL with the NBA lockout. Actually I am having to remind myself to visit the Suns forum. Don't get me wrong, I live and breathe the Suns and I'm sure I will follow the NBA closely if they ever get things going again. However, if a die hard Suns fan can lose some passion for the sport of their choice, one can only wonder what might happen to a casual or average fan of the sport.
IMO, the NBA does not have the ground swell of support the NFL enjoys. The NBA needs to learn they are playing for higher stakes than money... they need to be working hard to keep their fans. The NFL did not have the problem of their franchises losing money. The NBA needs to get things settled to keep building their fan base they have worked hard to build up. I'm not sure if the NBA (as we know it today) can survive if a season is lost.
Anyone else finding the NBA is becoming an afterthought?
