i'll be getting it for ps3..my PSN is 'cody31matrix'

btw patrick peterson has 97 speed, 96, agility, 93, jumping, and 77 catching (very high for a CB let a lone a rookie)....i'm sure he has a low 'awareness' rating which leaves him at 82 overall.

Planning to get the new Madden once it comes out on PS3.. when is the release date?

(Not a huge online player -- I prefer to do dynasty mode myself -- but might try it if I can find a few people on here that are of a similar skill level)

The one with larry is going offline in the next month or two. Stupid Activision wall street buggers.

They save 50 bucks in upkeeping costs, and piss off the people that buy it.

If I buy it, I'll buy it used, when it's about 20 bucks on sale this xmas, or last years for 10.

I know, it's just after buying about 15 years worth in a row (starting with '92 for genesis), it got crappy. It sucks that they take the online part off after 2 years, and rosters could be updated in like 2 seconds if they wanted it to. (and take like two employees a couple of days)

It's a cheap reason to get people to buy a game with only a few tweaks (although 10-11 was better in this respect) and pay 60 bucks for.

For most years, while there are changes, the biggest change, are the roster updates.

Plus they took away the pc option, so now they can use the same engine on the consoles for 10 years straight. It's a racket, and the nfl is a co-conspirator. Although it is just a game.

But to me, if the console is still active, the game should still be playable online. If on the pc, the game should have an option for the player to host matches, if EA doesn't want to spend the absurdly low coin to keep hosting it. (remember it is a company that has access to debt markets, with huge revenues....and since they don't update the old games...and they already paid for the old servers, they just need to hire someone to make sure they are running, pay the bandwidth (not much), and the electricity to run them.

I used to be a big madden fan, but I just can't get into it as much given how idiotic EA has run the franchise into the ground, and uses cheap gimmicks and pulls gameplay out from under their fanbase to strongarm them into buying madden 07 part 6. With the pc version, at least you could download updated rosters from 3rd parties.

But I don't begrudge someone for still buying it, and again I'm not against buying it, I'm just not going to buy it for full price on release date like I used to every year. Have fun though :)

good points. i used to not be able to sleep the night before when i was younger, i couldn't wait to start a franchise with the cards and try to make it to the super bowl...not with college and work i don't have the time like i used too. i hardly even play games anymore, but i'll still get madden and just play online every now and then. my friends all have it so they always want me to get it

Yep, franchise :)

7 ft 2, 400 lbs everyone with 100 at everything. Even the punter with throwing power and accuracy, because you never know when you need that fake punt.

Hell sometimes I'd go to our division rivals and make their guys all 0 in stuff like run blocking, pass blocking.

You could also be 'multiple gm', and you'd select those teams, get them to sign their 3rd stringer, or the guy you just made horrible to a 7 yr max deal.

Or conversely sign your guys to long term deals and THEN bump up their stats. It just differed based on years.

Oh yes I've easily scored over 300 in a game, and in some games, the most recent ones, they cap it at I think 255 or 256, and say...'stop it, you're breaking the game'. rofl.

The pc always gave you more options with this, and made it much easier in the menus than a controller. But I still bought both throughout the years.

:biglaugh:i can totally relate to all of that....when i was really young i'd put my people to 99 and i remember you could edit their body, and i always thought david boston's biceps weren't big enough so i made them bigger haha

The best was madden 64, in that one, I think the size did something. Because you'd make your guys that 7 foot or 7 foot 2 and 400 lbs or so, and they'd straight up injure the defense on almost every run. I literally must of knocked out close to 20 defenders in one game. I think they automatically put the injured ones back in, I was hoping for a forfeit....or to see their QB or WR or something on defense. Never happened though. Funny stuff.

My user name is azsportsfan01 on PS3. Haven't decided if I'm going to buy it though. I know it has been crappy the past couple of years but if they really have updated dynasty I may have to spring for it. I just picked up NCAA football and their changes were great. Being a coach is much more fun now. You can start as a coordinator and work your way up to the job you want.
