Anyone else think Wilson was weak today?

He was very bad. His coverage skills are awful. No impact.

I don't think we'll get it. If opposing coaches haven't already learned how to beat us, Wilson certainly gave them the blueprint once again today. I'm so sick of watching him try to defend a tight end.

How about use him as a blitzer like we did when he was very good...in 2008 he blitzed all the time in the playoffs. But I agree 100000% that he shouldnt be covering the TE unless the TE is on injured reserve.

Can't count on him at all in coverage....He was there on the final TD but not looking back for the ball as he really has no cover skills....But we keep asking him to do it....Just crazy....

Not sure what's going on with Adub this year, but we need him to play better for sure.

I really believe the Cards would have better off paying Rolle the $$$ & moving him to SS. His skills in coverage were much better than Aw's.

Need to make him more of a LB. He needs to have to read pass/run and either blitz, defend the run or defend the flat. He is not suited for a vertical game, and will remain a liability in coverage.

Yep the screen pass to Peterson late for a huge gain really summed up AW this year to me. He hesitated at first like he knew it was a screen, but then he just put his head down and blitzed and they threw right where he vacated for the big gain. It was really obvious on tv that it was a screen you could literally see the blocking forming.

It was almost as if AW said it's a screen, but I'm supposed to blitz so I'm just going to go ahead and do that and hope someone else makes the play.

The killer was the pick he dropped in the endzone, they scored a couple of plays later IIRC.

How many yards did Peterson run on that play before a Cardinal even came into the picture. Was unbelievable and yes what was Wilson doing other than taking himself out of the play completely.

I really believe the QB looks to see who Wilson is covering, then throws it to him.

Adub's strength in coverage would be to drop deep and cover one half of the field keeping the play in front of him in a deep zone, instead of trying to matchup 1vs1 vs a TE/WR or RB. He has good straight line speed but struggles mightily when transitioning from a backpedal straight ahead run. Change of direction is not his strong suit.

Either way, his ability seems to be diminishing some and he's getting up there in a age a little. We're going to have to start looking for his replacement very soon.
