Anyone Kayak?

That's dedication. I've been wanting to kayak for the longest time, but never did. Reading this thread made me want to again, but I got rid of my truck more than a year ago for a small coupe. No chance in hell I'll be fitting a 10' kayak on top of it now. I started looking around for an offroad vehicle again in the last couple of days.

You can get Jeep Cherokees for under 5k with upgrades and etc on craigslist.

FYI: you can totally fit a 10' kayak on your coupe roof. It has mounting points at front and back of the kayak. I would tie the front to my front bumper and the back to my back bumper. Easily done. They also make roof racks for coupes that would do it but isn't necessary.

That's what I was looking at. A Cherokee, or an old Bronco that I could beat up and not feel too guilty about.

IMO, cherokee all day. more available, more parts available, better 4x4 capability, etc.

I bought my swifty on craigslist, if you buy used just inspect the bottom. People tend to drag their kayaks around and damage the bottom. If there are not holes or massive gashes, you are good.

Apparently you should also check to foot pegs and make sure they go down far enough that you can sit comfortably with your feet on the pegs (provides balance)

My swifty also has "perception" on it, found a few online
