Anyone starting to think we might sign Vick?

I know Graves said we aren't, but ESPN said we were one of the teams in the running, and now Shefter is saying on his twitter that he thinks it could be one of the 8 teams playing tonight that are going to sign Vick....

Adam_SchefterMore guessing: fact that there's no Vick signing today could mean he will be joining one of eight teams playing tonight.about 2 hours ago from UberTwitter

I wouldn't mind the player, but not the media circus that would surround it.

The more I think about it, the more I actually like the idea. I'd much rather have him pushing Leinart and being a gimmick QB, than St. Pierre.

Nope.

Cardinals Organization is more concerned with 'doing right' and the perception of doing right than most. They've let guys go in the past for any sort of problem. I just can't see it.

And I really think Vick is over-hyped. He wasn't exactly setting the world on fire his last year in Atlanta, remember. His nickname was the 'coach-killer'.

I think Vick deserves a shot... a second chance. He paid his price...

HOWEVER, I see no practical reason for the Cards to spend even one second examining the potential of Vick being a Cardinal... NONE!

The reality is that we've already seen the best of Vick as a QB - it is all downhill from here. And from where I sit, his best as a NFL QB was blah...
IMO, he is not the type of QB that is capable of leading a team to a Championship. If the Cards were to take a flyer on him, does that cement the fact that Matty is toast? That the Cards officially have zero faith in Matt? And if so, we are officially screwed...

No way do I want to see Vick wearing Cardinal Red... unless of course it's the red from A-Dub's jersey smeared all over his body after one of Adrian's vicious smack-downs!!!! ;)

Its just not going to happen.

I can't belive we are still talking about this topic. Its doens't make any practical sense, it doesn't have much football sense (I like Boldin better for the Wildcat), and it certainly doesn't seem like the type of thing the Bidwills, Graves, or Wiz would do or have done in the past.

This is wishful thinking for fans looking at the Cardinals through a Madden/Video Game perspective. There is just no evidence supporting this whatsoever and in fact Graves shot it down the SECOND It came a topic.

Whatever team does sign him is going to have PR issues for sure and the Cardinals with the wealth of goodwill that has been generated this past season are just not going to take the chance to hurt that.

I am looking forward to some conclusion for Vick so the debates of should we or shouldn't we will just end....

Absolutey not. 3 reason -

1) Warner is definitely better than Vick and I am more comfortable with Leinart as the backup and QB in-waiting.

2) As for the Wildcat, Boldin will do just fine. However, Whiz doesn't seem too enamored with the scheme which is reason enough to not bring Vick in.

3) If there's a way to drive a good coach crazy (Whiz), bringing the media circus into town (Vick) would do it. Imagine all the useless questions that he would have to answer

I don't want any part of him. The reality is that Vick really hasn't served his time as far as the NFL goes, yes he was suspended, but it didn't really matter because he was in jail at the time and thus couldn't have played anyways. Now he's out of jail, if an NFL team just instantly signs him to me the NFL has not actually punished him.

I know he lost a lot of money and all that but he really hasn't missed NFL games yet because of league punishment.

I wouldn't mind seeing if he could play some RB for the Cardinals.

Three swings, three homers. Agree 100%.

There is absolutely no reason for the Cardinals to spend the dollars and cap space to acquire Michael Vick even at the veteran minimum. Up to now Matt Leinart has been the good soldier. Bringing MV in is an excellent way to upset the apple cart IMO.

I would not like it, period.. We have enough problems that we need to take care. We have a great starting QB and one who will become great once he gets the ball IMO. Vick can only hurt us with the negative pub that we would get here in Arzona. He would bew the center of all the sports guys in the whole world and take the eyes off of the team.

He would be great for a team like the Bengals/Raiders/Lions. They might need a jolt and could afford the publicity that goes along with Vick because they are losing anyway.

Vick (eventhough I want to see him somewhere) just won't fit here. He can't bring us any closer than the toenail we were away anyway.

No.

I will believe Graves over ESPN every single time. ESPN hasn't gotten a thing right about the Cardinals in 20 years.

Vick would be a HORRIBLE addition to this team.

How can these hacks say Cards would sign him when they have been adamant the team will not even consider it?

Seesh, when have the Cards ever shown they will take on players with criminal records, let alone one that will bring constant protests wherever the team goes...

I think Vick will and should get another chance, but it certainly will not happen in AZ.

How's it misleading? I put the site where I got the stats from.

im not talking about citing your sources. that's like saying Tom Brady is injury prone because you list every week he missed last year with his knee injury. It looks like tons of injuries but its one.
