Anyone still think our defense "is the problem"

Who wants to can CP now ?

i'm still not the biggest fan - his prevent defenses late in fourth quarters have made games much closer than they should be and actually have us at 2-2 whereas we could actually be 4-0. But I ain't gonna squawk that much - for three quarters for most of the season the D's been very good. I just think we can do better... but maybe it's just a lack of depth and the D tiring that lets those 4th quarter drives happen... something that can be rectified in FA next year.

personally, i think the jury's still out on him, but he's making a strong case for himself right now.

They had a great tackling day yesterday.

That doesn't mean I am going to pat them on the back for giving up third downs like candy in Baltimore, nor their bad tackling then.

But yesterday they came ready to play and play hard. It's all about becoming consistent. I love our Defense...they pump me up at the games and I give them props when they earn it and grief when they deserve it.

Nothing but props this week (although Green and Hood were beaten downfield routinely and were saved by the front line getting pressure on Fathead forcing bad throws...we still need a strong cover corner).

The Defense showed up and destroyed Willie Parker...I loved it!

All in all, their tackling has been pretty good all year. The BAL it wasn't good but one cannot expect great tackling every single game. I think this has been the key and what has hurt them in recent years...not wrapping up and suddenly a 3 yard gain turns into a 20 yard gain. That is not happening very often.

Good showing for the D...they get a game ball IMO.

In preseason, they didn't tackle well. They didn't shed blocks. They didn't rush the passer. They didn't cover.

They GREATLY improved in all four areas. They played the best game I've seen our defense play yesterday since..... hell, I don't know.

Whatever is the reason for the improvement.... I'll gladly give CP credit, and I definitely would've preferred if he had been fired.

I would use the prevent towards the end of the game when the game is out of reach. But not for the 2nd TD series that Pitts had. To me, if we did the pass rush like we did the entire game, i think we could have won comfortably. 21-7. That prevent D was too soon in my opinion. Yes we won. But I am not completely satisfied with Clancy.
