I'm on the ST waiting list for 4 tickets and don't even live in Arizona.

Just need a bunch of Phoenix front runners to dump their tickets so I can get ROH between the 40's.

If going 1-15 is what it takes the clear the flim flam phoenix not-so-faithfull fans out so i can get good seats, so be it.

How in God's green earth can you blame the Phoenix fans? What has there ever been a reason to be "faithful" for? This is the Bidwills (Cardinals) we're talking about here. I'd rather think the fans here are just SMART. We tried this year (sold-out for the season), and look what happened (we suck again).

Outside of 30-35K die hard fans the rest of the phoenix football fans suck.

Those others aren't SMART, they are ******* frontrunners.

You think it's SMART to throw your money to the Bidwills? What have they ever done to deserve sold-out stadiums? Continue suckage doesn't really attract fans ya know.

I assume you grew up in St. Louis loving the Cards. That's cool, but here in Arizona it's different. The Cards have done absolutely nothing to win over the fans here.

The Bidwills should be kissing Arizonans' collective asses for building them that stadium. Instead...the 10 million under the cap team continues to suck! You wouldn't believe how many people I talk to who say, "I'm trying to become a Cardinals fan." It's just too bad this franchise can't cash in on winning over more fans. It's a real tradgedy.

p.s. - btw...What were the crowds like in St. Louis when this franchise was losing? I dunno...just curious.

What loyalty (outside of the 35K diehard fans) has Phoenix ever shown to the Cardinals to deserve a good team? It's the same way with all your sports franchises. Look at the Diamondbacks. They have already won a world series and the fickle frontrunning phoenix fanbase rewards them with dismal attendance.

What loyalty did success (World Series) net the Diamondbacks? Fact is, if the team isn't out in front the frontrunners don't show up.

If the Cards won the superbowl next year all those "new fans" would throw their brand spanking new cards jersey (probably only purchased once the hypothetical playoffs were clinched) in the back of the closet the first sub 500 year afterwards.

They aren't 10 million under the cap anymore (resigned Dockett) and you don't know for certain if the Bidwills closed the tap or if Green stopped pursuing talent. Phoenix should be kissing Bidwills ass for sticking him in a **** stadium for 20 years and being two decades late on the promise to build a stadium.

Who is paying for that stadium anyway? The Cards threw in something like $150 million and the rest is coming from taxes on tourists. People like me that travel to AZ several times a year to watch the Cardinals play. (and get drunk at the dirty dog)

Those are probably the same frontrunning suckasses that only showed up in 1998 for the last game of the season and tore down the goalposts.

Reminds me of this frontrunner at work. This guy is so damn lucky. His football team wins the superbowl every damn year! Problem is he only knows who to root for during the offseason.

There are frontrunners in every city (look at all the hoopleheads in STL who didnt give two squirts about baseball two weeks ago). But it would seem that 50% of the frontrunners from any given city in the US migrated to Phoenix.

fan is short for fanatic.

According to Webster: fanatic - marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion

According to Phoenix: fanatic - marked by excessive enthusiasm after success is guarenteed and often brief devotion in the moment.

I fell for it too Vince. This was my first year due to air-conditioning. By all means I'm not a "new fan", but one who finally broke down and bought season tickets. We've had a good time going to the few games we attended, but when its free on tv, and the franchise is the worst run franchise in all sports...it's hard to justify throwing my hard earned money down the toilet.
We'll see how it all comes down, and re-evaluate after this season...but I gotta tell ya...it sure ain't looking good right now.

So it won't be "free" anymore when you (and some others) help in a non-sellout. Keep your ear close to the radio, my friend

nope....wrong butts

Hooray tourists!
Sure the tourist are helping pay for the stadium, BUT Arizonan's VOTED for it. Had Arizona NOT voted for it...the tourists never would have got a chance to help pay for it.

ALSO...Arizona political leaders put the whole thing into process creating the Arizona Tourism and Sports Authority allowing and helping Micheal Bidwill get his stadium. Again, had it not been for some politcal manuevereing, the people of Arizona would never have been able to vote for it. Remember, this franchise was close to moving to San antonio or LA. So yeah...the Bidwills should be kissing Arizonas ass. :p

As to the bolded passage I'm sure we would all vote for zero emissions if we could force Mexico to pay for it. Or maybe lets vote for nationalized health care and make France pay for it... Ooooooh they voted for it. Imagine the financial and emotional commitment of purchasing gas to drive to the polling station....

Phoenix promised a stadium two decades ago and that delay of twenty years has been a huge contributing factor to the bad football you complain about.

It sounds like you want a winning team without any commitment (financial or otherwise) on your part. If they win then you will support them. There is a word for that. I think it's frontrunner.

Plenty. The first season the Cardinals came here they averaged big crowds. When Buddy Ball came...season tickets soared to over 50,000. What happened? Team SUCKED! People went away feeling rip-offed by owner.

The reputation and overall bad auro this franchise has displayed over the years has been very damaging. Put it to ya this way...Had the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburg Steelers, Green Bay Packers or even Denver Broncos relocated here...the stadium would have been mostly sold-out all these 18 years. Those teams have all done something in the past, but more importantly show a committment to win. The Cardinals came with a horrible resume having done NOTHING in the past, and sadly did NOTHING to change their reputation when they moved here.

Arizona fans have given them countless chances over the years, but the Bidwills just can't put it together. There are way too many things to list that Bidwill had done (or not done) to REALLY turn off potential new fans. I'm sure you can think of a few...

What loyalty did success (World Series) net the Diamondbacks?
Tons! There are TONS of Diamondback fans here. Shirts...hats everywhere from kids to grandma's. Attendance has dropped due to 111 losses a few years ago and not getting much better. Entire new team (faces) that poeple are getting to know, and a change in ownership. The cities tv viewership of Diamondback games is very high. I believe one of the top tv ratings per market in all of baseball.

There are frontrunners in every city
Yes there are. Even more of a reason to build a winning team to endear NEW FANS in a NEW MARKET! Bidwill has failed miserbly at that.

I'll agree with you there. I got a hunch their was a few bigwigs in town that wanted the Cardinals to literally..."get out of town" thus the non-help in getting a stadium all those years.

Guess that makes me a "frontrunner" the last 16 years since moving to Arizona. What a minute...how could I be a "frontrunner" if I've been a fan for 16 years and my team has sucked for all but one of them?

I genuinely believe that the Cardinals made a commitment to winning this season. It hasn't panned out obviously with Radio at Head Coach.

That commitment is demonstrated by the extension of players that only a few short years ago we would have let leave for greener pastures.

The revenue stream just got turned on for the organization. The turnaround won't be instantaneous and running Green out of town would be a first good step in that direction.

In all fairness...I did too. That is before the pre-season started. It was pretty obvious we were NOT going to be able to run again. As soon as I saw that...I was like..."Oh sh*t...we're probably not gonna be good again." That o-line is just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fat and slow.

Even though we all had some serious reservations going into the season with basically the same o-line, a lot of us felt (hoped) with another year under their belt...they would be better. Plus with an established all-pro in Edge...things HAD to work out.

That commitment is demonstrated by the extension of players that only a few short years ago we would have let leave for greener pastures.
Yep. I see that too. It is clear that the Cards have somewhat come out of the "dark ages" and started changing things up a bit the last few years. We can thank the continuing increase in tv revenue creating a higher cap for that.

Probably and HOPEFULLY a great point!

Here's my real problem with the Cardinals. They seem to not know a thing about football. Serioulsy. They make bad hire after bad hire. Then they seem to not spend "wisely". It's like they still...after all these years being in business...just don't know how to put a "winning" football team on the field. That in itself totally reflects on the owners (Bidwills). They have absolutely no idea.

18 Years:
No running game (Ever).
A million different coaches.
A million different qb's.
A million different running backs.
One playoff appearance.
One owner

Get Green out of here!

The next coaching change is going to say everything we need to know about any change in the organization.

If they go out and get the best coach available and let him choose his own staff (regardless of salary) that would be a huge indicator to me that the Bidwills are serious about winning.

Just leave Pendergast at defensive coordinator please!

Hey I have a quick question since their people on the waiting list next season for season tickets does that mean the stadium will be sold out next year and all home games will be on tv?

No. They just have a credit with the team. They aren't obligated to buy anything. I just don't know how long they can "sit" on their credit.

The team will refund their money. Even though they say it is non-refundable.
