Is talibs issues worse than HB when he was coming out of LSU? Doubtful all we need him for is one or two years

Exactly! Re-work the Campbell deal and then see what you can do. Of course..... CC was just out voted from a captain by his own teammates and he might be pretty hurt by that. Who knows.

Talib is the perfect guy opposite PP. Great tackler..... Nasty edge..... And an exceptional ball hawk. He may cost us 15 yards here and there though. His hit on Keenum in the preseason was a Thug play IMO, but sometimes when that guy is on your team you love it.

+1, the negatives are obvious, he is a bad person with huge attitude issues and he is under contract for 3 more years so you have to put up with his antics beyond next year. But I agree with Dr. Jones, this is an acquisition that would really solidify our defense to where we wouldn't really have any glaring holes for teams to exploit and if PP goes down we still have a #1 CB. Obviously, CC would have to restructure his deal to make room but this solves a huge question mark we will most likely have to address next offseason (#2 CB). This move would also allow ARZ to move BW to the slot and eventually develop into an outside CB rather than let him get toasted week in and week out shattering his confidence. It will help our front seven by giving them more time to get to the QB. But it all depends on the pick DEN would ask for, supposedly Elway is denying the report that Talib is available or maybe he is looking for a starting QB in return?

One other thing, I would check with PP and HB to make sure they are okay with the move and they are willing to deal with Talib's type of attitude, he isn't some rookie they can take under their wing, most likely he isn't going to turn into a model citizen here in AZ.

I'm not going to pretend I don't want this. I'm also not going to pretend it will happen.

I would trade Ellington For him and maybe a mid draft pick.... We easily become the best team by far in the league.... He gives us 2 shut down corners and honeybadger can freely roam the middle.... We have signed Honeynadger and Nkemdiche both with negative history.... BASK are not afraid of baggage..... This is a instant chance at winning not 1 but maybe 2 SuperBowl's.... Also the Cards may have set this up.... They cut Red and save cap space... Trade Ellington and rework CC and bam.... An elite elite team... Even if Palmer God forbid went down.... Our defense wild be as good if not better than Denver's.

He really would be a 1 or 2 year rental. If you look at his contract after this year he has nothing guaranteed except 2 million if you cut him. If you cut him after next year there are no guarantees in his contract. So in essence he could be a rental you cut in 1-2 years and lets face it at that time he likely will not be a good player anyways. The real cost is in what it costs to acquire him. Whether it is a draft pick or player for such a short rental. But it is one that can put us over the top and that's likely worth that cost.

They just cut Hillman...... Andre Ellington would be a nice addition to their backfield.

I want Talib because I do not think our pass rush with the addition of Chandler Jones will even sniff the level of pressure the Broncos generate... we should have forked out some money for Freeney along with Freeney and we did not

Big difference...Badger was a young man in college making dumb mistakes...he and his character were coachable. Talib is a man in his 30's still doing dumb things.

Chandler Jones went crazy on synthetic marijuana the night before a playoff game. Character comes second to winning on this team at this point, and it's about time.

If they wanted him/had the cap room, I don't think character would get in the way of grabbing a lockdown CB.
This exactly.

Just from a cap stand point there is no way this would happen. Unless they moved Campbell.

Restructure both Campbell & Peterson and that could free up the cash, he's making $8.5M this year. I don't think its going to happen but man would he really be a shot in the arm for the defense.

Broncos are vehemently denying this and spinning it to try and not damage their relationship with Talib

Agreed, I'm tired of losing with "choir boys".

How does the cap work for in season trades? Is it pro-rated? E.g., say the Cards trade for him at the deadline does the cap hit reduce to 10 games, or whenever the trade deadline is? The Cards could make that work.

I'd see what Williams can do early in the season and if he struggles, pull the trigger on a guy like Talib. He's a CB and scheme won't affect him that much. Just go cover that guy.

When the shooting happened, they were talking about it on Football Today. The rumor was that the shooting had something to do him being high ranking in the Krips or Bloods. I forgot which one. So if you're Denver or 31 other teams, you have to be asking yourself 1. Are the rumors true? 2. If they are, are you comfortable with it - because in most gangs, when an officer is attacked, there's usually some kind of retaliation, meaning there's more drama to come.

I'm not too sure I would want anything to do with Talib anyway but maybe the Cards are already planning on moving Campbell. He's not a Captain and we did keep 9 d-linemen...
