Arch Manning is stepping into a new spotlight—and doing it with a very different look.
After serving as the backup to Quinn Ewers for the last two seasons, Manning is now the unquestioned starting quarterback for Texas heading into the 2025 season. With the pressure rising and SEC defenses looming, the redshirt sophomore appears to have undergone a noticeable physical transformation that could set the tone for his next chapter.
The former five-star recruit saw limited action last season but still managed to flash his potential. He recorded 939 passing yards and nine touchdowns through the air, adding four scores on the ground. Now, as the leader of the Longhorns offense, he’ll be expected to deliver on the high expectations that come with his last name—and his current opportunity.

A Leaner, More Defined Arch Manning
A recent photo of Manning speaking with Rams GM Les Snead caught the attention of many observers. Compared to images from last fall, the difference in his upper and lower body is significant. Listed at 225 pounds last season, Manning now comes in at 222—but the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
He appears more muscular, leaner, and generally more athletic—a reflection of two full years in a top-tier college strength program. It’s a shift that could be critical for his success in the SEC.
With the Longhorns entering a pivotal season and Manning finally in command, all eyes will be on the young quarterback to see how far this transformation can take him
