Since I have not replied to this thread yet, I will answer the title question.

In a normal year, I think that the Cards would be smart to save X amount of salary camp $$$ to resign players, but this was not the year to do it. In a year when they will be $30 mil or more under the cap next year, they should have spent to the limit.

It is really as simple as that.

The screw-up of the Tillman ceremony this weekend is a good example. They were correct in apologizing, but they should have taken the additional step and stated what they were going to do to make it right. They should have announced that they were going to do it all over again this coming weekend, but they were silent. It is all well and good to admit that you screwed up, but the true measure of an person or an organization is in how they work to correct the problem.

That is the truth. Saying sorry without doing more isn't really worth anything.

If two people in an organization always agree, then one of them is unnecessary. Loyalty is a great trait in a pet, but in the business world, if Graves isn't bringing something valuable to the table he should be shown the door. And for no other reason than to show the Players that the Owners are serious about winning, and that there are more important things than money or friendship involved here.

Michael should also announce that he is only there as an interim GM, and that he has formed a search committee to find his replacement. This act alone would go a long way to lower the emotions that are running high right now.

The thing is, I don't believe Graves brings nothing to the organization. I do not think he should be the GM but I think he does bring something to the prganization. While I do not know for sure, I believe he runs the scouting department. He negotiates 1st rounders contracts...yes, I know they always seem to have holdouts but I believe it was Graves who convinced the Bidwills they needed to get up to date in how to structure contracts.

Loyalty can be rewarded in people when those people can contribute positively to the "company"...and I beliueve Graves has...not always in the ways we wanted him to but he has done things here that warrant keeping him on board.

My addition of "yes man" into my post was an error in wording...that I admit. The Bidwills have done alot of things and Graves has had to be the guy to step in front of the microphone and take the heat even when he may have had little to do with the problem.

Not sure why Michael B instills any confidence when he was the voice if not decisionmaker in Green keeping his job after the OAK game.

Michael should have closed down the press conference after the Seattle game when DG stated so nonchalantly stated that "...they are just a better team" to explain the beating...fire his fat, lazy, arrogant ass and bring in "a Ditka-like REAL LEADER" who understands accountability and playing with the proper motivation and intensity...I am so sick of DG and his pathetic demeanor during and after the LOSSES that I do not want to even go to the games until he is gone.

shouldn't the title of the article be "Are the Bidwills STUPID or are they just cheap?" Because so far, in the last four years, we've seen thi horrific plan TWICE and it's failed miserably both times. Not sure where the "clever" part comes when you're repeating the same mistakes over and over again. That is the very definition of stupidity/ineptitutde/whatever you want to call it IMO.
