Are we not learning from our past mistakes?

The more I think about this.... that 1pm est start time is making me wonder why we went out so early to London. Have we won a game after spending a week on the road in recent memory? I remember staying in WV, NYC and other places but I don't ever remember the game following that time away turn into a victory for the Cards.

If I remember correctly, we usually came out sluggish, the opponent built a lead, and we could never overcome it. That Pittsburgh game is a prime example and I am concerned that our coaching staff and organization doesn't learn from history.

Meanwhile, the team who has been doing this for a few years now is coming out on Thursday after spending the week in Jacksonville after their last game.

Again.... With a 1pm start time, it seems more beneficial to me to keep them on EST for two days then have them acclimate to London, acclimate to the food, acclimate to the time zone, then have them play a prime-time game (London time).

Anyone else having these concerns?

Jet lag is real. I think the Rams are crazy for delaying their trip.

I hope we crush them... but obviously I acknowledge we can still lose this game of we don't play tough, because you know LA will.

I don't know, I don't think our week long trips are truly comparable. It's an 8-hour difference in body time, and I know I'm surely going to feel it... I can't imagine being a professional athlete and trying to turn it around in the span of three days.

The game starts at 1 PM eastern, so that is 6 PM there (I think)? So being there for this long it should not feel like an early east coast kickoff. It should feel more like a night game if anything.

I think the Cards did the right thing considering the oddity of a game in Europe and being able to adjust to the change. What the Rams do really does not matter to me since their history of close to a decade has been pure suckage and they are actually rated worst than the Browns. The Rams look good so far and with a coach who at the moment is working well with the front office and maybe doing better than he expected which is a tribute to the front office and GM too, I think they have earned their record... but they still have done nothing in a whole season to remotely say the Cards and especially the Seahawks should take a back seat to them in respect

I think you're forgetting that when we did the east coast trips we were playing a team at home who were already adjusted because its their home. This simply isn't the case here. It's a completely different situation.

In this case we're playing a home team that is actually further from home then we are, but are dealing with two forward time adjustments in a row. From L.A. to east coast and then east coast to London. Maybe that helps them, maybe it hurts them. I can't remember, but maybe they are trying a different approach after maybe losing last time in London? (checking, they had a 10-0 lead but lost to Giants 17-10 and indeed the Rams left for London on a Monday, allowed sight seeing on Tuesday. So this is just them doing something different.)

It's three hours less difference after they adjusted to east coast, but it's still two consecutive changes with less time to adjust to the second change, and overall a longer trip (which might mess with some players and their families and that sort of thing).

I don't know if we can say the Rams are doing it right. They might have done that just so they didn't have to go from EST to PST to GMT. Less miles and fewer overall changes. We're going from here to there. I think that's it. They didn't want to have to fly across the country an extra two times, but in this situation they probably should have just flown to London anyways.

But hey the Rams are the franchise who knowingly moved to L.A. despite the fact that the vast majority of L.A. prefer another team that plays in Oakland and soon in Las Vegas.

I don't know, I think the whole time difference thing is blown out of proportion. If the theory is your body is used to playing at a certain time and now the time difference has an effect on your performance then why aren't Sunday, Monday, and Thursday night games a problem. You are playing 7 hours after you normally would. Shouldn't that affect your performance too? Wouldn't playing in London be no different than playing a night game? This is all theoretical of course.

I think London game are a unique animal. Jet lag, body clock, and weather are all so different. Speaking of weather, it is may be cold and wet on Sunday. Guess which team spent all week getting acclimated to that?

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit. Going early was a smart play. It often takes me 2-3 days to get my sleeping schedule back to normal.

they didnt come home before the game either by staying in jax so what is the difference really?

Normally you would be right, but the jet lag and environmental differences are much different, AND we have to remember the OTHER team is travelling too. We aren't getting someone at home.

We have a HUGE advantage right now with the Rams waiting so long to fly out. They are still going to jet lagged on Sunday.

I traveled a lot to Europe in the military, and continue to do so today. Day 5/6 is usually my magic number, meaning, I'm adjusted. I think it's also excellent they have a bye next weekend... they just need to stay focused on the game and be ready to execute. I would hope that spending the first 5 weeks of the season looking like total chumps, and then coming out looking like contenders last week, would be enough to motivate them and keep them focused. I know I would be a different man.

Just think how us fans are better. All of us chalked this season up as a loosing season. The last game(even with them falling flat at the end) has changed our outlook on this team. Just think how it has changed the player's/coach's/owner's.... Its a game to push this team forward and I with a win this weekend, its another great leap forward to win the division!

Well, the Rams beat the Cowboys, the Jaguars (both on the road)and even with 5 turnovers came down to the last second in overcoming that and almost defeating the Seahawks....We are legit and you have never faced a Rams team like this in 10+ years. Should be a strong game for the Brits to see...

The way the Cards are doing it is how I do it when I go to Europe. Every team should do it like the Cards did this week. The Cards are 100% on rhythm with the time there. Some of the Rams, I promise you, are still not.
