Playoff tickets are still available through ticketmaster? I'm empathetic to the long suffering that Cardinals fans have endured but it's been 4 weeks that a home playoff game was determined and it still hasn't sold out?

That is PATHETIC. I've been pretty lenient with the fan situation at the stadium but this is too much. No wonder opposing fans have no trouble getting tickets to home games.

I assume the game will be sold out by gametime but this is weak Cardinals fans. No wonder Whis is constantly begging for the fans to show up with their support. This makes me sick to my stomach. Urban's on his blog pimping tickets, Whis is encouraging fans to support the team...I'm sorry, but if this is all the interest that the region is giong to generate for a playoff game then maybe the Cardinals need to move again.

... huh, most Vikings fans are the fairest of the fair weather. I figured that this would be the time that all the tickets would be sold.

If I lived in Arizona I would. If the Cardinals need to have fans fly in from across the country that only furthers my point. Maybe the region isn't set up to sustain a football team.

Aren't the Vikings an annual candidate for moving? The Vikings have been to the playoffs many times as well as Super Bowls too. I could see how fans might not be flocking to the gates. I don't agree, but I could see it. I would think that Cardinals fans would be all over this situation since it so rarely happens. Also, the Vikings just found out that they made the playoffs and their seeding. The Cardinals have known for a long time.

I envisioned week-long tailgating parties and a sea of red love if/when the Cardinals made it back to the post season. Maybe there is and I can't tell since I'm not there.

The cheapest ticket is $65.90...for the worst seat in the house.

People aren't exactly swimming in cash these days. Maybe if was somewhat affordable, people would go.

I dont know if this is a factor or not:

the common perception amongst the non-season ticket holding but still football/Cardinal fan contingent I talk to is that all the games are sold out. They dont even consider buying tickets because they assume there are none to buy -- (and will be happy to watch at home rather than paying a scalper premium).

When the Card got blown to bits in 3 of 4 games its pretty understandable for fence riding/bandwagon fans to shell out that kind of dough during a reccession.

I was planning on flying out from Colorado but when I called to purchase he tickets, the box office said that they weren't available to non-season ticket holders. With airline prices what they are, I can't afford it now.

I was about to post the same thing. I'm in Albq, have season tickets and I fly/drive in to support the team when I can, including this weekend. Bakersfield is about the same distance as me, so what's the excuse?
Well, I just got out of the hospital for one and I don't particularly enjoy going to live games in general for another. Also, I have to work every Saturday night so it makes it unfeasable to make the trip time-wise as well as monetarily. I fork out the $300+ for Sunday Ticket and a big screen tv as my viewing of choice.

But when I wanted to go to a Lakers playoff game I knew I had to be in line the first day they went on sale. Tickets on sale for weeks and 5 days from the game and tickets are still available? C'mon, that's indefensible.

I'm not criticizing those that are indeed going or flying in from Albuquerque and in fact, those fans should be as pissed as I am.

Too true, die hards sitting in our section just flat out couldn afford it. They were going to try and get them game day but having to purchase the entire package, during the holidays, makes it pretty steep for fans that are living pay check to pay check.

My dad just purchased a ticket today. They were selling single game tickets on all levels. The cheapest was $50 plus the associated fees.

I rule. My co-worker was telling me about how he had family coming in to town this weekend. I told him that he should take them to an NFL playoff game this weekend. 5 more Cards fans in the Nest! He just bought the tickets!

You have all these excuses for not going to the game but criticize people for not paying for TWO games one of which will never happen and not be refunded if they don't renew their seats?

Bidwill was originally going to moving the franchise from St. Louis to Baltimore. I bet he's kicking himself now. Living in PA, I was so pissed, but his wife had last say & she chose AZ. When the Cardinals are on the road, I mute the TV. When they are at home, I still mute the TV, because it still sounds like a road game. It nauseates me to no end. If the Cardinals can have a solid decade of competetive football, maybe that could change. I still would rather see them move somewhere where the fanbase would be more fervent. Sorry AZ, but too many transients.

economy schmonomy. A home playoff game with this team once every HALF CENTURY. Phoenix fans will FOREVER be seen as what they are (which is pathetic for the most part) if they can't sell this game out.

But this is probably much ado about nothing. by gametime, I'm sure the place will be packed... and if it's not, then shame on Phoenix fans everywhere.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with paying for 2 games. I've seen various posts that range from $50-$65 for a ticket which is hardly out of this world.

As far as me going to the game being the end all qualifier for my opinion I can't even drive my car right now so I'm not going to make a trip to Arizona even if I could afford it. A week in the hospital without insurance has put a damper on any frivolous spending I might like to do. That does not mean the greater metropolitan population can't afford an extra $50 to support the Cardinals. Hell, if you go to a sports bar and order drinks and a meal you're going to get close to that.

I can't believe you disagree with my criticism. Are you actually arguing that it's justified that the UoP isn't sold out for a playoff game yet? How many empty seats is acceptable?

Times are tough right now for everyone. Ill tell you that I have been diehard for the last 20 years and dont have my seats cause I cant afford 50 dollar tickets right now. Im concerned with keeping the lights on. I really dont understand how you are questioning people for not buying tickets and then in the same sentence listing your problems and your reasons you are not. Do you think nobody in the PHX area might have the same or simular problems with money right now? Games are expensive, you forget parking, drinks and food.

How is being medically unable to go the same as coming up with $50 to support your home team?

Imaging I lived in Phoenix I could easily go no frills and just buy the ticket to go to the game. Carpool for the parking or get dropped off. Smuggle in some snacks or eat before hand and go without treats. No souveniers, etc. Even broke, I could get to the game and would make a point of it.

With all of the other things the Cardinals face in terms of a negative stigma, having empty seats at a playoff game would be worse than anything the Bidwills or players have ever done.

Cleveland Ohio is one of the poorest city in the U.S. Yet, there able to sellout every game. So i don't know if you can blame the whole economy on it. I just think that fans in Arizona aren't as passionate as other NFL fans
