Apr. 26—PLATTE, S.D. — The Platte-Geddes track and field team put together a string of top performances at its home meet on Saturday, cruising to a sweep of the boys and girls team titles.

On the boys side, Platte-Geddes finished the day with 147.5 points, 43.5 points better than second-place Gregory (104). And on the girls side, the Black Panthers finished with 146 points, a full 50 better than Irene-Wakonda (96).

The Black Panthers picked up 10 total event victories on the day. For the boys, Carson Vanden Berge won the 100-meter (11.35) and 200-meter (24.90) runs. He also ran a leg in the 4x200-meter relay (1:35.05) along with Braxton Breukelman, Quincy Stephens and Hayden Sprik. Easton Schuman won the 3,200-meter run (11:33.71) and Gabe Fite won the 300-meter hurdles (43.98).

On the girls side, Taylor Schrank won the 800-meter run (2:45.19) and Rylen Kramp took home the pole vault title (8-9). The Black Panthers took home three girls relay titles as well. Dulcie Veurink, Ava Olson, Beza Fite and Braelyn Qualm won the 4x100-meter relay (57.04). Veurink, Olson, Qualm and Claire Maydew won the 4x200-meter relay (1:59.34). Finally, Lenlee Mills, Berkley Block, Kala Maxon and Kassandra Abbas won the 4x800-meter relay (12:48.35).

Other area teams won multiple events. Gregory's Lincoln Juracek won the boys javelin (123-0) and triple jump (39-2.5). Luke Barreto won the 800-meter run (2:13.74) and Finn Adams won the 1,600-meter run (4:59.93). Ethan/Parkston's Mason Jervik took home the boys high jump (5-11) and long jump (19-7.25) titles.

Bon Homme's Mason Jolley won the boys 110-meter hurdles (19.67) while the team of Major Aarstad, Isaiah Crownover, Owen Bures and Ethan Wagner won the 4x100-meter relay (48.93). Claire Guthmiller won the girls 1,600-meter run (5:56.25).

Mount Vernon/Plankinton's Sammi Eide won the girls 400-meter run (1:03.02) and Abigail Engelland won the girls 3,200-meter run (12:28.23). For Tripp-Delmont/Armour, Dalton Westendorf won the boys discus (118-9) and Lyndsey Chessmore won the girls triple jump (32-4.5).

CHESTER, S.D. — Jaden Kleinsasser led the way with two event titles for the Canistota track and field team at the Tom Main track meet on Saturday.

Kleinsasser took home two boys throwing titles in the shot put (46-10) and in the discus (140-4). His efforts led the way to an eighth-place finish (55) for the Hawks on the boys side. The girls finished in seventh (37). West Central won the boys team title (132) and Dell Rapids St. Mary took home the girls team title (115).

Canistota had a combined five more top-three finishes. For the boys, Dayne Krinke took third in the javelin (128-2). For the girls, Allison Leber finished in second in the 400-meter run (1:04.58) and third in the long jump (15-9.5). Ellia Hjermstad finished third in the 200-meter run (28.08) while the team of Leber, Hjermstad, Emma Sandman and Nora Crotty finished third in the 4x400-meter relay (4:48.02).
