I really don't think Peterson will hold out. That's not his style. Not when his boy Badger is working so hard to be back. They want to win too much. Plus, it's not like Peterson will be relegated to dining on Ramen noodles---his $5.8M figure this year isn't all too shabby, is it?

I hope you are correct about PP not holding out. I wish that I could do the same, but there are three things that make me suspicious about that.

1. He fired his agent and replaced him quite sometime back.

2. He clearly indicated that he had no desire to exert himself in the special teams portion of his responsibilities by turning in completely lackluster performances last season. He played those returns like he had complete disdain for that part of his game.

3. He openly conceded in an interview that holding out would not be out of the realm of possibilities for him if there was no big payday ready to happen for him.

To me, these things combine to be of real concern. I have learned that, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, it just might actually BE a duck. I hope I am wrong, but the absence of any word to the opposite from PP himself, makes me suspicious.

In March (2013), Arians called (Levi) Brown an “elite” player, and it’s a description the coach hasn’t backed away from. He used the word three times on Thursday when describing Brown.

I stopped listening to BA's bluster about the time he said this.

Great coach...... Great team leader...... Willing to lie to improve the confidence of his team.

Catfish---he was baited into the question and he did not concede anything---all he said was that he hasn't discussed anything like that (a potential holdout) with his agent, which was taken as a potential maybe.

Sorry about that third point then. I was of the belief, (from something posted here on this board), that he had stated that a holdout was not out of being possible. You are probably right about this then. With him having two years on his contract, I was thinking that holdout talk was very premature at this point.

Yeah, he totally got baited into that. You could tell he didn't want to answer the question, but he had to cause he was asked. He couldn't say he was just going to roll over. I forgot what exactly he said, but it was more non-commital and avoiding the question than anything. But technically, he didn't rule out a holdout. Hence the headline "Peterson doesn't rule out a holdout." You gotta love the media sometimes.
