Screw him. He's in the entertainment business. Raise the profile of the Cards, and EVERYONE wins.

Eh. Let me play devils advocate. Why would these guys expect privacy in a public game? They crave attention and money, and when the league comes up with ways to give it to them they want to keep conversations private? Please. Find a new line of work.

Sorry the more I think about this the more it irks me. This guy can make a lifetime of living off a damn game and talk about privacy ? Kiss my ass Bruce. Dude act like he was forced to coach a professional nfl team.

I think you are missing his point. He is simply stating that a lot of stuff on cut day and etc is very personal and he doesnt think they should air that stuff. I agree.

I mean go ahead and do it but it sucks for those guys

Or how about when you watch your team and see your coach talking about how crappy you are or how much of a dummy you are etc...

I am fine with his opinion and dont see any reason to get all mad about what he thinks of it.

A Mixed Bag

I don't agree with BA's total rejection of Hard Knocks participation, but I also don't think "participation" should be no holds barred because of personal confidences that shouldn't be breached.

I agree with one of the reporters at the STL Post Dispatch who observed that a key function off sports journalism is to take the average fan to places where he/she would otherwise not be able to go.

Locker rooms are part of the game. Film Study sessions are part of the game. Dealing with fans (& opposing fans) in restaurants is part of the game. Watching players interact with fellow athletes in leisure moments is part of the game. And viewing this under the umbrella of all the stuff that goes on within the confines of an individual team is a special part of the game.

But there are things that are off-limits. My litmus test would be: "If the dude involved (or someone close to him) doesn't want it shown, then you don't show it.

My point - Open access is a good thing (As a fan, I'd love to eavesdrop on the coaching staff critiquing a previous game or breaking down an opponent or finalizing a Top 120 draft board) but this isn't meant to be investigative journalism. Some things should remain off-limits.

I'm guessing that he was responding to a question asked about the topic.

Pretty much every quote you read, coach said this, coach said that, are responses to questions asked in league required press conferences. If the coaches had their choice you would never hear a word from 90% of them.

The offense sure as hell doesn't look like he is doing it.. 5 weeks into the season and the offense is a mess..

If that was the case, then Horton wasn't doing his job either in 2011. Let's wait until the end of the season.

The plays look good, creative and etc...

I think its more of implementing system and carsons hair being on fire than him not doing his job.

Horton wasn't the head coach.. And I didn't see Horton in the media blabbing his mouth..

Was he not in charge of the defense? And all BA did was answer a question. Simple as that.
