So, after the Te'o thing, I know it might be too much to expect, but did anyone, you know, ask Arians what he was planning to do?

At his press conference earlier, he said that he hadn't decided on his defensive staff yet. I'm sure he has some ideas but he just didn't share them

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
Ridiculous.

Can I base you as a person on your worst day ?

15 out of 16 weeks that defense came to play. They one three games all by themselves, and could have one at least 2 more if the offense didn't just give away points without the chance to defend them
Not to mention after losing 9 straight and getting blown out 58-0 that defense came back and practically won the next game versus the offensive powerhouse that is the Lions.
Look at the stats, look at the standings in the defensive rankings, the turnovers, the big plays, the passion from the players, the motivation no matter the score, the record, and the time of year.

Look at the QB ratings of some of the best QB's in the league.
Pretty darn great, and IMO, to say otherwise is to force a point.
It is a HUGE chance to risk that production, and that asset, but if Arians is the guy, then he is the guy.
But, the Cardinals don't get a free pass. No propaganda hides what Horton's defense did. That is in the books
And there is no need to hide it. The Cardinals needed an Head coach, they needed to change the offense. If Horton kept his defense the way it was, even if it improved, if the offense didn't get better they are 6-10 at best again.
Had to do something, could it have been done without pissing off the current defensive coordinator ? Yeah. Just like every other organization is able to, but the damage is done, it is what it is.
All there is not is too see what happens, and if Arians can live up to his rep.

If you look beyond the numbers you'll see a defense that was on the field way too often and constantly put in horrible positions by our inept offense.

Yep...this is a case where I throw numbers out the window. That offense was atrocious, turned it over like crazy, and he inherited a defensive system that was crap, based on a base system that isn't his own. Of course he failed with it.

Doesn't make me leap for joy by any stretch, but at the same time, those numbers are blather.

You'll also realize that those point numbers are an aggregate that includes offense and special teams blunders.

These blunders added a ton of points to that number. If we just take the 2 pick sixes in the Seattle game and forget everything else, that's 14 points which is almost 1 point per game of that total.

When you add all the ineptness that struck us, like Beanies fumble for a touch, the safeties, and everything else, it doesn't take much to close that gap between us and the top teams...Seattle and San Fran.

Like other posters said, our defense was put in far worse situations then other teams were. Had those defense faced similar adversity from offense and special team they would probably be behind ours.

The Cards were 8th in opponents offensive points per game, but that still doesn't take away the amount of times they started playing defense with their opponent already in FG range.

I just hope he puts together a good staff and not a bunch 1 or 2 year coaches that are yes men and friends. Bring in the Norv Turners of the football world that already know what they are doing.

I get that..the other poster wanted stats so I gave him stats. I think our D was fun to watch was explosive
But no great D gives up 58 one game or not...that's why it set a record.
They do if the offense coughs up 8 freakin' turnovers.
