Retirement is the #1 killer of old folks they say. I think he has a man crush on Mayfield who is the gutsy gunslinger with attitude. He was probably forced out because he could have coached someone similar to Mayfield in Rosen.

He's just getting his name in the press. Free publicity and it gets everyone talking about him. I doubt there's any seriousness here.

He is on national TV weekly. What would be the need for this?

I am just waiting to see if he is announcing the Cards / Chiefs game since it is on CBS. So far the teams haven't been assigned.

A coach, player, whatever, retiring and then realizing they wish the were still in the game is hardly unusual.

Maybe not... But a guy with reported health problems, taking in interest in the biggest dumpster fire in the league is.

I personally don't care where Arians would want to go and whether he would take the job in Cleveland. I don't want him coming back to the Cardinals either.

Except an Oline & a game breaker WR
Jarvis Landry is pretty capable. I'd agree that their WR corps might need to be upgraded but Landry is a strong piece to build around.

I agree with those that think there are a lot of pieces to work with and better coaching alone would improve that team.

While I appreciate this reference nobody ever says it right. It’s “So you’re telling me there’s a chance.”

Not throwing shade at you, I just hear this all the time.

My take:

BA is a coaches coach. He isn't going to threaten another coaches job security by offering up his services. If you recall, he was reluctant to consider the Arizona job because he knew too many coaches on staff and didn't want to have them all fired, but he wouldn't come in without a clean sweep. Whiz talked him into applying for the job.

That said, he can't stand Greg Williams, thus Cleveland is the only team who's name he'll throw out there. I'll bet BA has had a few conversations with Freddie Kitchens about the current inner workings of Cleveland.

BA has no intention of coming back to coach, IMO.

Cleveland is not going to hire a 66 year old HC. Arians interest in Cleveland is to play Pittsburgh twice/year. It goes without saying that he'll always dislike Tomlin for how things went down there.

Bruce Arians becomes one of the leading coaching candidates for 2019

He’s officially retired, just like he was before joining the Colts in 2012. If Bruce Arians wants to un-retire again, he may have plenty of options.

Per a league source, Arians already is regarded as one of the leading candidates for a coaching carousel that officially will start spinning only six weeks from tomorrow.

Arians, a two-time coach of the year, is one of the rare former coaches who wasn’t fired. Which could complicate any effort to hire him; because he still had time left on his contract with the Cardinals, Arizona could seek draft-pick compensation in the event that Arians returns to coaching.

Arians has said that he’d only consider one city for a return: Cleveland. But that assessment from Arians came at a time when only one job was available. What if Arians has a chance to coach the Packers for as long as Aaron Rodgers remains in Green Bay? It could be very hard for a guy who has worked very well with the likes of Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, and Carson Palmer to pass.
