Bill Bidwill is getting on in years and he is losing patience. This time around he turns to two venerable football people from the Indianapolis Colts to help turn his much beleaguered franchise around...

His choice for new GM: Dom Anile (Asst. GM/Scouting Indianapolis Colts). While Anile is in his late 60s, he is widely regarded as one of the best talent evaluators in all of pro football. Anile was one of the architects of the Carolina Panthers' road to success a few years back. He's known for his penchant for acquiring tough nosed, physical players. He was a tough nose coach himself for decades at C.W. Post University.

The choice for new HC: Tom Moore (OC Indianapolis Colts). The venerable Moore is the architect of the Colts' formidible offense, which is predicated on the QB audibling into play calls in adjusting at the line of scrimmage to the defensive alignments. Not only would Moore be the perfect mentor for QBOF Matt Leinart, his ties with Edgerrin James would re-energize the RB's outlooks on the future in Arizona.

The new OC: Clyde Christensen (WR Coach Indianapolis Colts). Moore's offense will be co-taught with Christensen...and is basically an autonomous offense dictated by the QB's reads at the line of scrimmage.

The new DC: Mike Murphy (LB Coach Indianapolis Colts). Murphy has been in Indy as long as Tom Moore and is more than familiar with Tony Dungee's defensive schemes.

Free agents? The Cardinals sign three big free agents this off-season:

1. G Eric Steinbach, Cincinnati.

2. LB Adalius Thomas, Baltimore.

3. CB Assante Samuel, New England.

The Cardinals re-sign Leonard Davis and move him to RG. Steinback starts at LG. The Cardinals move Deuce Lutui to center.

One off-season trade: The Cardinals send LB Karlos Dansby to the Cleveland Browns for a 3rd round pick in the 2007 draft and T Nate Dorsey.

The draft? The Cardinals trade the top pick in the draft to the Miami Dolphins for Miami's 1st, 2nd and 4th draft picks...and a 3rd in the 2008 draft. Miami drafts QB Brady Quinn of Notre Dame. The Cardinals' selections are as follows:

1. (from Miami) Levi Brown, T, Penn. St.

2a. Tim Crowder, DE, Texas.

2b. (from Miami) Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn. St.

3a. James Marten, T, Boston College.

3b. (from Cleveland) Tom Zbikowski, FS, Notre Dame.

4a. Lyle Sendlein, C, Texas.

4b. (from Miami) Matt Spaeth, TE, Minnesota.

5. Curtis Brown, RB, BYU.

6. Aaron Rouse, S, Virginia Tech

2007 Starting Lineups:

Offense:

QB Matt Leinart

RB Edgerrin James

LT Levi Brown

LG Eric Steinbach

C Deuce Lutui

RG Leonard Davis

RT Nate Dorsey

FL Anquan Boldin

Wow, I know that you spent a lot of time writing this up but.......

I am not going to talk about the coaches you talk about

You picked the wrong trade partner in Miami. After already spending a 2nd round pick on Culpepper, they will at least give him one more year to see if he can contribute. Oakland, Buffalo, or Detroit would have been better options. I don't know if we could get the same trade with their pick, but wanted to mention that.

Good job on the mock up.

Of all the offensive line juggling propositions I have read this is the first time I have seen Deuce elected to play the Center position. Do you even know if he can do a shotgun snap?

The word out of Miami is that they are very doubtful about Culpepper's prospects. You make a good point, though.

Deuce would have complete chemistry with Matt Leinart. The shotgun snap is not that difficult to master.

Sam Mills of course died not too long ago. No disrespect to him intended, I just don't think that plan will work.

We should make him HC, then. A dead Sam Mills might not be a better DC than Pendergast, but he might be an upgrade over Denny.

You are absolutley right. He was still listed as the Panthers' LB coach in the 2006 Lindy's publication...obviously it went to press before he passed way. May he rest in peace. What a great man he was.

I edited the main post, tabbing LB Coach, Mike Murphy as the new DC. Murphy knows Tony Dungee's system and he's been in Indy as long as Tom Moore (9yrs.).

My sincere apologies...

The way players slide into the early portion of round 2, there's no tellin who might be still available. Posluszny and Crowder are tough nosed players who will probably be listed four or five deep at their positions in the draft.

But...the thing is they are the kinds of players that Dom Anile would draft.

Maybe we should just draft high-motor character guys regardless of talent like in the days of Mac.

I like that you tabbed Thomas and Samuel as FAs. They are both very good defenders, Thomas is probably in for a huge payday since he has arguably been one of the best LBs in the league the past two years and Samuel is a RCB, I'm not sure how difficult that transistion would be for him, but it bears mentioning. Also, can you give me a FA list?

No, but reading defenses to make line calls is. Not an area I think a player like a Lutui will shine in. His rep as a "gamer" and not caring much for practice is why I hold that opinion.

I give you props, Mitch; one thing for certain your postings are always ambitious.

Tom Moore would be great for Arizona as an OC. But HC, no!

Moore has coached in the NFL for nearly thirty years, nineteen as an OC, including stints in Minnesota where he held titles of assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach and assistant head coach/offensive coordinator.

Yet Moore has never made the transition to a head coaching position. That tells me that either he doesn't want it or there is some other reason that he hasn't gotten it, my guess is the former.

I don't forsee that changing. Moore is 68 years old, I would guess that the next move he makes will be to retirement.

I wouldn't bring in any defensive coaches from the Colts...if it wasn't for their offense they wouldn't win many games.

Also, with your draft and FA signings, what happens to Dansby?

I say the 3 big FA's to sign would be Freeney, Briggs, and Clements.
Trade the #1 overall pick and get a 2nd and 4th rounder next year with the lower 1st.

My draft:
1. OT Sam Baker
2a. OC Kyle Young
2b. OT Jake Long
3. DE Victor Abimiari
4. LB Prescott Burgess
5. DB Simeon Castille
6. DE Kyle Caldwell
7. RB Ally Broussard
