Last year (2018), the Arizona Cardinals were 32nd in overall DVOA (Defensive-adjusted Value Over Average).

They finish 2019 20th in DVOA. Their offense went from 32nd in 2018 to 13th this year, lead by the second-most efficient rushing attack in the NFL and and the 21st-ranked passing offense.

The defense backslid a little, from 18th in 2018 to 23rd this year. Our rush defense finished 12th, so there are obvious sources of improvement if Patrick Peterson stays clean and Robert Alford is able to come back from injury.

The offensive line finished 21st in run blocking, measured by adjusted line yards, despite finishing in the top 10 in their deeper metrics. It ranked 26th in adjusted sack rate (pass blocking).

Here are the rankings of headline individual Cardinals players:

QB:
Kyler Murray, 21st (15th QBR)

RBs:
Kenyan Drake, 5th (16th in Success Rate)
David Johnson, DNQ (He only had 93 carries, which wasn't enough to qualify; he had a negative rushing DVOA; he was 8th in receiving DVOA among RBs)

WRs:
Larry Fitzgerald, 43rd
Christian Kirk, 50th (4th in rushing DYAR among WRs)
Pharoh Cooper and Byrd had DVOAs around zero.
Andy Isabella had a 33% DVOA, which suggests that all the plays that were called for him were the right ones.
Any individual rankings for the Olinemen?

Sad part is WR still is prob not a top 3 need for this team right now. I’d rate OT DE and ILB are bigger needs. Tossup between OLB and WR are next.

I agree on the #1 WR part. Imo, our biggest 3 needs are 1. DL 2. RT 3. ILB
We can fix all 3 positions a number of ways.

DL- Derrick Brown or veteran DT
RT- Wills or Wirfs plus a FA DT
ILB- Corey Littleton

Just depends on who we sign first at DT or RT in FA, then go the other direction with our first pick in the 2020 draft.

Lynn Bowden jr at Kentucky would be a hell of a get for a #1 WR in the 3rd round. He may very well be gone by then though? Athletic freak. He's a WR & prior to this season, Mel Kiper had him listed as a potential 1st round selection. Kentucky put him at QB during the 4th or 5th game this season. All he did was rush for almost 1500 yds in like 8 or 9 games. The defenses in the SEC knew he was going to run the option & they still couldn't stop him. He's a true #1 WR imo but his athletic ability could be used by KK in many different ways. In the belk bowl new yrs eve, he set the all time record in college bowl game history, for rushing yds by a QB. 233 yds. Virginia Tech couldn't stop him. He played QB his senior yr in H.S but he's a WR. Athletic freak.

Absolutely agree in regards to Bowden from UK. We have close friends originally from Owensboro, so I always get UK (usually hoops) feedback from them. My buddy said he's a Randall Cobb (UK also) type, with far more juice. Stoops is building a nice program there.

Jedrick Wills was horrible yesterday. Atrocious.

And I'm not a believer in Derrick Brown at all.

My rank:
Young
Simmons - 2a for now
Jeudy - 2b but I keep flipping on this one.
Okudah
Thomas
Lamb
Wirfs

One will be available.

Wow, funny you are familiar with Owensboro, my dad is from there, he went to high school at Daviess County which Owensboro is in. I'm big blue through & through. Big Kentucky basketball fan & also a Kentucky season ticket holder in football. The things Bowden did this season were amazing. Teams knew he was running it on every play, both safeties stacked at the LOS & still couldn't stop him. He's an athletic freak & a hell of WR. I would love for us to draft this kid. I loved Randall Cobb & Corey Peters while they were at UK, watched them both grow. Bowden is more electric than Randall Cobb, he's gonna be a steal for whoever drafts him.

A few years back I was in Henderson, KY on business. I remember driving maybe 30 miles to Owensboro & having dinner with my buddy’s Mom & Dad. It was early April & the weather was like 80 degrees. I think they all went to Owensboro Catholic? Great family, except my buddy is a Steelers fan. Gags me to say that!!!

The weather in Kentucky changes so drastically. It's been like high 60's to low 70's here just this past week, high temps of those days. This coming Monday the lows are going to be in the 20's. You have to keep extra clothing in your vehicle at all times around here lol. Next time you're in Owensboro, go to "Old Hickory" & get some BBQ, you will not be disappointed. I recommend the chopped mutton, everything there is hickory smoked. I have plenty of friends that are Steelers fans, makes me sick, I've tried to convert them lol. Didn't work.

Agreed...not sure what it all means but when your best WR is 43rd its not very good.

TB has 3 in the top 34
ATL has 2
LAC has 2
DAL has 2

We have zero!

And none of those teams are in the playoffs.
