The Arizona Cardinals and City of Glendale are continuing to work out a 15-year deal to bring the team's summer camp to University of Phoenix Stadium but the clock is winding down.

A few weeks ago the two sides were far apart but have continued to work to reach a deal.

"We're not over the goal line yet but we're getting closer," said Dave McAlindin with Glendale's economic development department.

McAlindin said the final city council meeting is June 25 and then the council breaks until after summer camp would begin.

"We'd like to get this deal done before the June 25 meeting," he said.
The Cardinals don't need Glendales approval to train at their home stadium. The issue is with complications camp would cause.

"The reason this has taken so long is because of issues like parking and management of the youth soccer field," said McAlindin. "These are some of the issues that kept this from moving forward with the council."

Glendale is over a barrel, they have no choice but to approve.

The way I heard it, there is almost no way that a 15 year deal will be reached this year now, because the two sides are so far apart. However a one year deal may be reached for this season only that might accomodate both sides, just for this one season.

Thought building a practice bubble was part of this Glendale training camp deal? How are they going to get it built before the end of July. Urban says the Tempe bubble won't be ready for this off season and they started that weeks ago.

Don't know how they are going to practice with just the stadium field available. Anyone know what the story is?

I am going to miss going to flag every year. But I do like the fact that I can now go watch practice pretty much when ever I want.

I still think they need to have TC in Yuma. Flagstaff is what made the Cards soft. Practice in sight of the Yuma Territorial Prison Park. That'll get them focused.

Yuma does suck but it isn't nearly as laughable as one would think. Their population is bigger then Flagstaff and might be considerably bigger since the Air Base became the main operating center for the new F-35 Jet since 2012. That new new jet has made the area explode with new population as the air base expanded bringing in more personal and civilian personal, along with more businesses to handle the new population. One of the fastest growing area's in the nation since 2012 I believe. I work with a few builders down there and they are selling houses before they can even get permits released. They cant build them fast enough and the closest thing I have seen that resembles that is the housing boom in PHX some time back. I have driven up there once a month for about 3 years now and it is way different every time, that is how fast it is changing. Anyways, no one cares because it isn't happening and I just went on a tangent for nothing.:mulli:

But I bet you'd trade it for this: "Displaying a brand of physical, hard hitting football rarely seen in the Valley of the Sun the Arizona Cardinals pounded the San Francisco 49ers into submission Sunday 20-3."

my one yuma experience:

Sitting at whataburger with my screwed up order - made a comment about how 30 year old employees at whataburger so cant expect much of them

Woman behind me scoffs and says I sounds arrogant and "just like obama"

it was rather funny.
