RG---Travelle Wharton: For opening up the thunder and lightning.

DE---Randy Starks: This year's John Abraham.

LB---Karlos Dansby: This year's Karlos Dansby.

CB---Tarell Brown: A steal to help steal the NFC West.

SS---T.J. Ward: Cardinals go and get the best.

2014 Draft:

Note: Not sure how, but Steve Keim works out a way to make 8 picks.

3---OLB DeMarcus Lawrence, Boise St. Brings athleticism and suddenness to the pass rush.

Pretty clever Mitch, never realized how often ar are :) combined in the English language.

Blount won't happen because he is horrible in pass protection.

The rest looks really good or in some cases IDK enough about the player. Do you think Dri Archer lasts until our 6th pick which is probably 4th or 5th round. He blew it up at the combine and I fully agree he would be the perfect understudy for Juke.

Mitch - you are a well informed poster, so it's a bit surprising to see you project the number of free agents -- especially when three of them will be fairly expensive: Veldheer, Dansby and Ward. Further, Terrell Brown and Blount won't be inexpensive either.

I can see something like a Dansby+expensive LT + one or two relatively low cost guys as a reasonable expectation for free agency --

Yours feels a bit over the top

That's funny, I was thinking for my latest mock that the first 2 rounds would be Shazier and Bryant. From reports, Shazier is a good, hard-working kid. He tested among the best athletes at the combine, has serious production on the field, and plays sideline to sideline.

The only knock on him is his size. For all the Beanie Wells bashers, Shazier reportedly has, like the Wells complaint, thin legs. He does, however, generate alot of power from those legs but that may also make it tough on him to gain much (good) weight in the future.

Sorry Mitch don`t like that draft at all.The FAs Veldheer likely will stay in Oakland.Graham is a pass catcher as you say so Cards need a blocker TE more.Wharton is likely retiring.Tarrell Brown CB wants to be a starter so he goes where bigger dollars go.Starks will want starter money also .Why take less cash to be a backup in AZ?

As for the draft
Shazier- too little. Will get overwhelmed in the run game IMO.
WR Bryant in RD 2-a diva WR with 2nd pick.Team has more important needs than a 3rd WR.
RD3.Another OLB?
4.Lynch TE-a blocking TE.fits a need position
4.DT Reid- why?
5 Archer RB/WR can he be a return man?
6.Colvin CB depth and developmental?
7.Unless a kicker or punter is head and shoulders above everyone else then why use a draft pick on one. There are usually 20-30 kickers looking for jobs .

Sounds like either Wharton is retiring, or staying with the Panthers.

Please NO on Arthur Lynch. Does not catch the ball consistently.

Archer goes at least one round higher, based upon Combine explosion.

When I first asked myself who I would like the Cardinals to take in round one after the season ended, it was Ryan Shazier. I changed my mind and started to think of DTs but that is the dreaded 'need' pick when I honestly still think Shazier in not only worth the pick at 20... the guy in my opinion is top 10 talent, and I'm sticking with that pick now :)

I did a Google search on Dri Archer , and recommend that everyone check out the guy's highlight reels. Archer is not just another track speed guy , he shows good vision and instincts , agility and tremendous football speed . In the same group of videos is Tavon Austin footage, after watching both , I beleive you will find Archer impressive .

Karma pick: Logan Thomas as an UDFA or late round selection. QB at Virginia Tech just like Bruce Arians. I knew BA played QB at VaTech but didn't know he was a Wishbone QB.
