Butler is the heir presumptive to the DC job in Pitt, and has made it clear that he doesn't want to leave. I'm more impressed with the strides the "D" took in Davis' first year than you, and believe that he will get to keep his job because Whiz wants it that way.
I agree.

Doesnt matter losers the 49ers are going to kick your butts no matter who you get as dc, also btw expect to only one win 1 game if that this year lmao Alex Smith is going to pass for 300 yards plus every game against your highschool defense this year. I could have played in the nfl but I had a bad ankle after playing for usc.

Evidently they don't teach proper English at USC.

Lock the guy up with a 7 year extension. JMHO.

5 years... $30 million. Done deal...

Ironically, Whiz would be getting this extension on the eve of facing his toughest challenge as a head coach. Leinart at QB. No Dansby. Probably no Q. A terribly old, slow and inadaquate defense. Contract issues all over the place... I mean, the prospects of Whiz getting this type of extension and the Cards taking large steps backward is very real... That would suck... :bang:

I'm shocked you even stepped foot on a college campus...you write like an 8 year old.

Oddly enough I think him having an 8 year old reading and writting level is actually evidence for him actually being a failed college athlete.

Great news that they are working on an extension for Whiz. He likes it here and its just a matter of time before there will be an extension announcement.

For Whizz's 2nd contract, I think the base will be 5.5-6.5 with significant bonuses from there. He's doing things no coach in Cards hx has ever done. 15 wins away from 1st place all-time in wins? Hit it out of the park guys!!!

In a vacuum yes. But that's why most people dont sign incentive laden contract unless they have no other choice. Im almost positive Whis will ask for more upfront salary, and a significant one at that

You are correct. Remember when Ricky Williams, the RB, signed his first contract laden with incentives instead of guarantees? He caught a ration from just about everybody for doing it.

Fans and media give lip service to the incentive contract and then immediately call the athlete an idiot if he or she signs one.

Same old Cardinals, back to back playoff appearances and extending the head Coach. I can get used to this kind of same old Cardinals.

Negotiations to re-sign coaches often involve more issues than money, however. For instance, Whisenhunt has long desired an indoor practice facility at the team's headquarters in Tempe.

I was just wondering what is or are the reasons he wants this?

A true Trojan would just call it SC.

U...C...L...A... UCLA! Fight, fight, fight!!
U...C...L...A... UCLA! Go...Fight...Win...Bruins!

(That will ruin his day.)

Back to the topic at hand...

I'd love to see Whiz get his indoor practice field built. As they say you have to spend money to make money and I think this is one of the things the Bidwills need to open up the wallet for.

It is good to note that the indoor facility or what it would really be if they go with original plans is a shaded field was Mike Bidwills idea when Coach Wiz first got here. Mike was ready and willing to start building it right when they hired Wiz and they got started on the weight room remodel instead. It was Wiz who told Mike to wait until he had proven himself first. This is according to a conversation one of the radio guys in town had with Wiz when we first signed him.

Of course we all want Whis extended, no brainer. The good news is I have faith it will get done, not the feeling I would have had 5 years ago.

Terry Austin no longer the DB coach; I think that's a great thing.
