2021 - Prove It
The point is that it is inexcusable that with a QB on a rookie contract this is the situation we find ourselves in. Thought that was clear.FA literally just started. Sheesh.

#KeimTimeWe also have to remember that 4/5 of the Oline will be UFAs come 2023. Pugh restructured he did not extend.
Cardinals lack so much self awareness. Try to operate like they are the Patriots despite having results like the Jets.Does not extending Hump this year make you think that the Cardinals are not completely sold on him?
Could have been a way to lock him down and lower the cap number (19m) this year.
I am not a big fan of his game (huge fan of him as a person) but you need a long term answer at LT. I wonder what the plan might be.
It's obviously the plan but the sheer arrogance of it is still astounding. You would think we just won the SuperBowl rather than getting embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs.Maybe Keim has a trade up his sleeve? That’s usually the only guaranteed good/impact move he makes each off-season.
But yeah… the “let’s run it back, only not as talented” plan so far doesn’t inspire confidence so far.
I wouldn't bet on Howard at all. Guys like him rarely break out.Maybe. But the counter argument is that you can pay him 3.5 as a player who may have a chance to do more. Low risk for a high return is widely considered a solid investment strategy.
Look at what the Saints have done with kicking the can down the road on salaries. The Cardinals could have done this the past few years and even this off-season.The point is that it is inexcusable that with a QB on a rookie contract this is the situation we find ourselves in. Thought that was clear.

Prepare for an “ it’s still early”, “ there’s value in waiting” and “ we’re not done yet” responses. This is the off-season from hell so far. Just about the worst possible scenario has come to fruition.
If I was AZ, my plan moving forward would be this.
Sign Trey Flowers on the EDGE. He is 28. He has been productive as an EDGE player even if he has never been a sack specialist. He doesn't count towards a comp formula. You can have a rotation of Golden, Flowers and Kennard going into the draft and be ok. (Other option would be Derek Barnett but he have never been a standup edge player even if I think he could do well in that role)
Sign Matt Ioannidis on the DL. Also 28. Came from a deep DL rotation. Can be a vet body up front who might be able to replicate his production from 18 and 19. Also a cut player.
Trade for Laviska Shenault. Young player who could actually be a RB but plays WR. He has upside. He can do multiple things and adds athleticism to a WR/RB room that needs it. A low round pick should make it happen.
Sign Will Hernandez at OG. No idea if he even makes it through camp but he has played for Kugler, adds youth to an older OL room, and shouldn't cost much. No reason he can't stick as at least a backup that isn't over 30.
Keim should kick the tires on Danielle Hunter in a trade. He has shown he can be a top end edge player. Probably will cost a 2nd. This team needs difference makers.

Yeah, but not a planned tanking, a Keim Time tanking. If Keim tried to tank then the Cards would probably win the Super Bowl.the sooner people realize this year is a tank year, the better.
No, true beliefs to many who are easily bamboozled by a subpar GM who truly believes he is the smartest guy in the room.So true responses?
Meh...I think they may be "true" but also a bit naïve.So true responses?
Something that should have been done as soon as Arians left.Yeah, but not a planned tanking, a Keim Time tanking. If Keim tried to tank then the Cards would probably win the Super Bowl.

Yes, it is early, but your options become more limited by the day. Also, the level of talent available that is above replacement becomes less and less.
There is value in waiting but that is more in relation to single year contracts and cheaper players whose skill level is replaceable. Single year contracts have their own issues and replacement level players are by definition, replaceable.
And yes, we aren't done yet but we also are less talented than we were and the options to make up that gap are significantly less.
You aren't wrong that there are still some above average players on the market. We will see if we make a run at any of them.
I like Matt Ioannidis. Pass on the others. If I was AZ, my plan moving forward would be this.

I think Keim believes his o-line is good enough with Murray returning. If we don’t add a couple of weapons on offense we will be pathetic.Meh...I think they may be "true" but also a bit naïve.

I am not happy at all with the off-season but it isn't close to being the worst possible scenario...This is the off-season from hell so far. Just about the worst possible scenario has come to fruition.
