After their loss to the D-backs in Game 1 of this series, Stephen Strasburg questioned the effort of his teammates, saying, "As long as we fight til the end. If we do that, then whatever...I gave it everything I had today and it wasn't good enough. I'll live with that, and it's a new day tomorrow. If we can get 25 guys to do that, that's going to be huge."

It sounds like Davey Martinez is another in the line of Washington managers who can't control the clubhouse.

I guess Washington, D.C., does that to people. :)

Pollock ties the game with a clutch 2 out single in the 8th

Now 3-3 going to the bottom of the 8th, Archie in to pitch

Walker is garbage. Guess we know who’s getting sent down when Lamb returns.

Boxberger with a difficult 10th but gets the save

Dbacks win 4-3, that's 9 straight series wins to start the season

What a game! It isn't how you win. It's that you win. At least, today.

Michael A. Taylor bounces into a force out at short. Dbacks win 4-3. David Peralta hit two homers. The bullpen was great again. Dbacks have won another series, their ninth in a row to start the year. They'll go for the sweep tomorrow.

We had no business winning yesterday or today, but this team is so well managed it doesn’t matter

That's awesome. I know the 2001 Marlins have 9 straight also, but what is the record?

Also, Dbacks are tied for the best record in MLB.

2001 Marlins? They are reporting everywhere that it is the first time since 1907 that a team has opened with 9 series wins.

They said multiple times on the broadcast today that it was the first time since the 2001 Mariners that a team opened with 9 series wins, unless I was just hearing wrong

Anyway, amazing start. If they go .500 the rest of the year they will have 88 wins.

Marlins did it in '01. The 1907 Cubs were the last NL team to do it.

By the way, what a great start to the year! I'm in Texas and don't get the games on television, but I've got the ESPN gamecast going during every game, and even that's been enjoyable. Let's keep the streak alive!
