lol

I started reading this thinking this was an actual article and I when I got to John McCain's commments I was like "WTF?" Then I realized it's more of an The Onion-esque type take.

Arizona sports will always rule in my book :)

I know some of you are not going to like where I place the responsibility for the Valley's sports status.

Just as Buck Showalter has earned a reputation for bringing a team to the brink of greatness, but not being the person to reach-then-sustain it . . .

I suggest the same is true of Jerry Colangelo.

He was instrumental in getting Phoenix into the limelight 37 years ago, but has never reached greatness with the Suns.

Recently he put us on the map with four Major League teams. 'Shot the moon for one Championship with the D'backs. But look where our teams are now.

The Valley sports scene has clearly been in his hands for all of these years. Whatever the results are . . . does reflect on him, more than everyone else combined.
