Turned into a disaster of a season. Guys losing control, little depth, coaching issues. Start over again

Word on the street is that he’s dunzo after the season.

Don’t know if he would take it, but Mesa native Randy Bennett would be high up ASU’s list.

He's very good, for sure, but I don't think ASU needs a 62-year-old coach at this point. Not sure why he would leave St. Mary's at this point of his life, either. A decade ago, Bennett would have been a very good choice for ASU, especially with his local ties.

ASU could do much worse than Bennett. For starters, many college coaches are coaching into their 70s, so you’d get ~10 years of proven experience. Plus, many of these older coaches start grooming an assistant now as their replacement. Also, ASU can pay more. Bennett makes $1mil, so I’d imagine that they’d pay him more than double his current salary.

I think you guys need the best coach that’s willing to take the job, because the Big-12 is filled with titans. Ideally, Bobby’s replacement is younger, but if a known commodity wants to take the job, you don’t say no.

Derek Glasser is asst coaching at UCSB. Maybe he could be the basketball version of Kenny. All time games played leader and assists leader at ASU, so one would hope he'd love to coach for his alma mater.

Plus, then we complete the set of alumni coaching all four major sports.

I'm not sure what or how he's been doing at UCSB, but they've been a contender in the Big West since he got there, including winning the conference back in 23.

Another near-miss against a top team in Texas Tech. Glad that the players have not packed it in - and there is talent even with JQ out - but it's frustrating to see the team's inability to pull more of these games out. The fouls seemed a little one-sided tonight, but it's the little, coachable things - like boxing out on defense - that seem to be the problem.

Jihad has been awful for the past several games. He is a mid major guy for sure. Hurley calling a time out with 10 or 11 seconds left when Tech had none was dumb. Very dumb. Randy Bennett is a great coach who has been offered at high majors and turned them down. Don't think he is leaving now. Need to bring in a very successful young mid major HEAD COACH. Like Bryce Drew who is just around the block.

It seems as if we are out of place so often during rebounds. I think all of our players should go hire Dennis Rodman and understand rebounding fundamentals.

Please have them visit the Suns as well.

Players not wanting to hear what Bobby has to say after the game is not good. Another ejection. I know Rossini said Bobby is our coach, but the off court stuff is starting to stack up against him as well.

Out of control. When your senior leader tells a ref FU, your team has spun out of control. I see a new coach and probably no player back next year.

This crazy, inconsistent team is capable of making a run, however unlikely, in the Big 12 tournament. Either way, it now seems certain that ASU will need to go in a different direction after 10 years.

I am not putting it all on one player. But Sanon has been terrible since December. He has completely lost his confidence. If he has been consistent throughout the season with the way he started it this is still a team in the tournament talk.

Not sure what went wrong with him.

The injury problems didn't help, but it does seem like it is more than that. Sanon was a self-proclaimed "one and done," but I wonder if a transfer is in his more immediate future. He is talented and looked good early.
