Will the Sun Devils finally break through and get a win after losing 3 tough games in a row? Washington just knocked off USC and now looks like they may have a say in how this conference plays out this year. I'm thinking ASU wins this one but it really could go either way.

This is really a do or die game for the Devils. A loss would make it nearly impossible for them to secure a bowl game. Washington regained their confidence last week with the big win over USC. Really tough game to call.

Where are all the Devil fans at? ASU gets their 1st conference win and keeps their bowl hopes alive.

FTFY.

It's going to take some work to overcome the 2 FCS games especially since we've already lost some games where we've played pretty well. We can count on a couple of games a season where we play horribly so we still have those to look forward to. I said before the season and I believe it still, our slim post-season hopes will ride on our end of season matchup with UA.

ASU will have to beat Cal and/or USC on the road. I think it's possible, but they will have to play better than they have all year to do it. There's certainly room for improvement

I thought the Middlebrooks kid was impressive, but I wish he was redshirting. We have 3 other good backs.

As for the game, I thought the last FG being rubbed out by a penalty was going to bite us in the butt somehow. Also, Threet played better than Locker. Locker is so overrated IMO.

To be fair, we really haven't played up to what we're capable of either. I don't see this team completely falling apart, but I also don't know if they are smart or disciplined enough to beat the really good opponents we have coming up.

We'll see...the guys need to show up the next two weeks. These are games we should win.

The way Wazzu is playing lately, there simply are no easy games in the conference. I can't see Oregon going unbeaten this year, but if they do, they better play in the BCS title game. ASU may have 2 losses, but they easily could have won either game with better execution. They definitely have their work cut out for them in order to be bowl eligible.

We haven't played an error free game, that's for sure. However, a few glaring mistakes notwithstanding, we played about as well as we could hope for against Wisconsin and we played fairly well at Oregon also. I'm not convinced we'll see a better performance this year than either of those games. I've seen nothing from this coaching staff that makes me believe we're capable of playing a near perfect game.

Mistakes are more forgivable if you score touchdowns and convert on third down about 50 percent of the time. I think the biggest mystery about the offense is they haven't had more big plays for touchdowns. I'm thinking we might see some of that in the second half of the season after this bye, because I think teams will begin bringing their safeties up more to take away those running plays ASU's been running with some success.

On the flip side, I worry about the defense taking a step back. Washington's OL was pretty awful and they were sick. One kid was out with mono. The defense almost NEVER blitzes. They do nothing creatively schematically, and they don't have the defensive ends (even with Onyeali) to create pressure with just four and five guys. They're gonna have to take more risks. Put those fast safeties to use in the pass rush. Bring Burfict off the edge. Stuff like that.
